I was just going to purchase the book tonight, I was going to read it everyday on the train. Do you have any more copies at all? I'll be willing to pay $40.00

Unfortunately, there are issues with the printed copy. In addition to the higher price, I have to wait longer to get paid. Also, it's about the same profit as the printed version. Also, there's the issue of updating. There is no chance of updating the printed copy, unless you count whiteout and tape.
Maybe someone here would sell you their printed copy.

Should really have the link on the store.
Hi! All orders are up-to-date now.
I have been looking at making the process more automated, but for now the orders are manually processed. It states on The Unoffical GameSalad Textbook web page, that it can take up to 24 hours before the download instructions are sent.
It is frustrating, but I haven't found a system that meets all of the requirements.
I used to use it for an automated mp3 store a few years ago, and it worked a treat. It's free, and pretty sure it has loads of payment modules. I used to use paypal through it.
I like OpenCart better, but there are some issues remaining...
1) New York State Tax... which is nuts! It can vary depending on where you live in the state. 2) SSL Certificate... It needs to be more secure, but that costs some money. 3) I don't have a PayPal account, but it seems that I should get one.
Without the ability to collect sales tax, I wouldn't be able to accept orders from New York. I like Google Checkout because it does automatic sales tax calculations.
The download information was sent. I sent the original email yesterday. I resent it from a different email address just now. Maybe a spam filter blocked the original message.
It seems that I really should get that ordering system online!
All orders are up-to-date. If you did not receive the PDF download instructions via email, check your spam filter or you can contact me through Google Checkout.

I was contacted by a college that wanted printed copies. And recently, I read a page from the printed version. It was really nice. I liked how the book was big and important looking. Ha. So... all you paper lovers out there — rejoice — the printed version is available again.
What are you all waiting for?! Go kill some trees!
Seriously, I think the printed version makes a great Christmas gift for an aspiring game developer. (And for those of you that don't want to kill trees, the digital version is still available.)
i the pdf the same as the one on the ipod and ipad

Yes I believe the pdf is the same as whats for sale on the app store now. Not sure he even give the pdf option anymore. Occasionally he still offers the print but haven't heard if that is available anymore
• A universal binary - so it runs on the iPad, iPhone or iPod Touch • Easier to update • The most popular version • Faster than iBooks
I tried supporting as many versions as possible, but that created confusion and it added a lot of work. With the next GameSalad update or February 28, whichever comes first, ordering at Photics.com will cease and the book will be available exclusively through the iTunes App store.
I added an Index to the App version, making the app easier to search. It's ready to go for the next update to the app. I'm waiting to see when GameSalad 0.9.1 is released.

From what I've read, the iPhone / iPad simulator doesn't allow the running of outside apps. Also, there's a rumor that Mac OS X 10.7 (Lion) will run iOS apps, but that seems unlikely too.
Hi Michael, I just downloaded your book and I find it's quite useful, clear and instructive so far. I paid $450 (Singapore dollars) for a one day class where they introduced GS and had us do a couple of games, which made the whole thing look easy and tough at the same time. My point is, if they gave a book at the end of it, such as yours, it would be helpful. Maybe you should get them to bundle it. It's always a good feeling to walkout of a class like this with a book you can refer to. Cheers Guru

The Unofficial GameSalad Textbook is being used in classrooms. Also, there are two incentives for educators to recommend and use the book.
1) I enabled the educational discount option. I don't think anyone has used this option yet, but supposedly it's a 50% discount for educational institutions that order 10 or more copies.
2) Apple's iTunes affiliate program is a great way to make some money off of a book that you didn't write. Teachers and schools could create a link for their students to order the book.
A lot of educators want a printed copy. I'm seriously considering bringing back the printed version when GameSalad leaves beta.
Guru said: btw, does anyone know if I GS allows user generated input? Can I think of a game where the user uploads pictures, for instance? Thanks.
GameSalad doesn't really accept outside information. You could create a virtual keyboard, and have the player enter their name. You could also create an option screen. That's technically data from the player, but things like pictures or audio aren't supported... not yet anyway.
Thanks for the prompt response, mate. No, these guy in Singapore didn't mention the book, I stumbled upon it recently.I guess I'll email them with a link to your site.

Maybe the printed version will return when GameSalad leaves beta.
It's the app icon for BOT.
That's what's strange about this forum. Sometimes I don't like helping people because someone is probably already writing a post.
