Interestingly they also have a 15ft high wall, razor wire and a team of armed security. This is a school suburb which has probably about 100 schools, all the rest are open and friendly looking.
Anything creative under the sun...I've been a Graphic Designer/Art Director for 10 years, graphics and interactive media for pretty much any medium you can think of. I worked on the TV show Stargate as a Playback Artist (motion graphic designer), dabbled a bit in games and levels for engines like Source, EA Games once offered me a job as an Interface Designer, Photography..you name it. I now work for myself from home and hope to publish my first game, with or without a Publisher, very soon. I've always had a strong passion for games so this seems befitting for me.
Gamesalad just rocks (if they can just fix the mem leaks)

I LOVE Stargate! What sort of machines did you use?
i'm an 15+yr ex-corporate programmer (databases, microsoft, asp, linux, web, etc) we delt with some high business contracts, major energy corporations, financial companies, etc.. really important suits. whoopie. well, my soul was dying as i was making everyone else rich.
i got sick of it. I bought a mac 5 years ago and went freelance, did a few gigs, made some medical software but got shafted by the business contracts.
always wanted to make video games, never devoted the time or energy to it. except when i was 18 (i'm 33 now) back then all there was was directx3 and that was HARD! Now it's a new world, so i live off my savings and work on my game.
This first one is a major learning experience. The next ones will be fast and crisp, many gamesalad apps (to pay the bills) as I get acquainted with Corona (unless GameSalad suddenly introduces linked objects) Fortunately, for me, programming is easy. It's all the art that's been a major challenge.
spent the last two days addicted to onlive.com -- HOLY !@#$% THIS CHANGES EVERYTHING!
i'd love to swap some code implementation for some great art

Do you mean computers? Gosh I can't remember...this was 2005 I think for season 2 of Atlantis and whatever season SG1 was...They were PC's and not super powerful.
@TymeMaster: Any big game company is a "sweatshop"...you will be working mad hours at any one of them especially close to a deadline.
I'm a sous chef, a real one. Tecnically I'm trying to get a Phd in biology but you need money for that, so I begun working in a restaurant and climbed to that rank.
