    Do you mean computers? Gosh I can't remember...this was 2005 I think for season 2 of Atlantis and whatever season SG1 was...They were PC's and not super powerful.

    @TymeMaster: Any big game company is a "sweatshop"...you will be working mad hours at any one of them especially close to a deadline. :D

    Not true, when I did games for Disney it wasn't. But in general game developers make far less than app developers, for example working at adobe was well into six figures.

    So true... and especially so when working for Disney ;)

    It's mainly down to how game companies have to cost things. They bid for a contract at ridiculously low prices and tight deadlines to get the work ahead of other companies.

    Then they realise they don't have enough money to hire enough staff to complete the contract on time.

    Which means the staff they *do* hire work twice as hard as they should to get things done on time and on budget.

    THEN the staff that worked their asses off to make the game get made redundant at the earliest possible opportunity.

    It's what inspired my business partner and I to do things differently with QS - we've seen how 'not' to do it too many times ;)

    QS :D

    @QS

    Yup, that's why i went freelance. The very notion of working people like that makes me rage! Shallow scum mother$13$#@%!~!~!!!!

    Also, don't forget that all the people who pour their creative sweat into making a product awesome are not the ones who get to enjoy the fruits of their labor.

    Software IS NOT factory work. Always get a %

    @MotherHoose

    Are you a grandmother?

    I ask because I keep telling the Gendai guys that I love their software because a grandmother will probably come along at some point and use it to make the greatest game ever :D

    You know it would be!

    And it's perfectly plausible thanks to how easy GS is to use!

    There are already grandparents writing Objective C apps, so using GS would be nothing special at this point.
