Even though I am not a pro user, I think it would be best for GS to give it to pros only. If it were given to free members, some might tarnish GC altogether. and it wouldn't give much value to the pro membership. Either way, I can't wait.

no GS should do this IMO
for pro members, give all the features and 100% royalty 500 dollars a year
for free members, give all the feature and 75% royalty OR give limit features and 100% royalty
for pro members, give all the features and 100% royalty 500 dollars a year
for free members, give all the feature and 75% royalty OR give limit features and 100% royalty
sounds good?
Not really. If Gamesalad gives most of the perks for free, than what good is buying pro?
I would only go for an a-lacarte kinda thing. where you select what you want and it totals up. for example
Gamecenter- 200$ no splash- 150$ Iads- 50$ Links- 100$
again, thats just an example. GS needs to get more money out of this. the more money they get, the more chance that they will spend the money on more upgrades and things like that. Its already good enough that it is free.

I am assuming you were not an active member of this forum during the GS Direct meltdown. Royalties will not work for a number of reasons that were already addressed over and over again during those dark days. Trust me, royalties won't fly.
Sorry guys, but it seems that you don't know what you want. Nobody liked when GS decided to implement revenue share model, some months ago. Each time a new feature is launched, these useless discussions appear in the forum.
If you want Game Center, custom loading screens, IAP or any additional feature they will launch in the future, please pay $500 for pro license or go learn Obj-C without any cost. Period.
I'm really tired of these kind of threads. I want to see examples, Q&A, useful answers for the issues that the users post. How about we focus more on developing good games?

i really don't know what's that big issue and discussions about who should get GC and who not.. It ONLY makes (business) sense for the GS to include things like GC (that we all want) in pro only.. where else would they get the money to continue developing.. i personally don't have 500 bucks lying around but for PRO with GC i will get it somewhere cause i think is good investment.. If GS for some strange reason decides to include it in free version i personaly would be worried - even now Apple is not too thrilled with quality of GS games altogether and is concerned about the cluttering of appstore with not-that-great games.. letting everybody do whatever they want on GC for free.. well, i would be concerned..

Does anyone else see the irony in Disney investing in Game Salad and, if I understand correctly, Steve Jobs is on Disney's Board of directors. Maybe that how Apple plans to improve or eliminate some of the crap the comes out of Game Salad.
Revenue sharing scares the crap out of me and is so not the way to go EVER. Its bad enough taking Apples comission, dev fees and the tax man. The pro price is fair for us who areserious about this.

GameSalad = Game Creation for Everyone .. For Free
You can all create games as it is now for free. So thats no money for GameSalad but you all get to make games for free so what do you care? The business needs money to stay a float, simple! Charging for additional features and calling it pro is a revenue stream for GameSalad, which can then be invested back in to the company to continue growing their company!
Now just because kids cant afford it, that is not a valid arguement to ask for extra features for free. Look im 25, i drive a Ford Focus but would ideally prefer a Porsche, should i go and rant over at them and say im only 25, i could never afford a Porsche, give it to me for the price of my Focus?
Nope, simply wont work. You get to make games for FREE with no coding ... If thats not a bargain i dont know what is! GameSalad need to implement more into the Pro only model to get as many people on board that as possible!
I love GameSalad and i want them to be around for a very long time, for this to happen, they need to make money!

im not saying that it should be free just because im a kid, i want to get pro and as soon as i get money i am going to.
People want everything the easy way and for free. Your lucky enough you get to make games without coding for free. If u can't afford 500 a year you don't need pro, and if ur a kid and can't afford it then your not a professional and don't need it as well

For a kid, you've got a mature take on this issue. Doing things on your own steam and not complaining about what you're not getting. I like how you think, that'll take you far
The current offering for PRO is the best that GS can do at this time. With the recent cash injection, I am anticipating good things to come.
However GS wants to serve it, GameCenter integration is required immediately.

I think I've been very consistent on the matter...
• Pro wasn't a value at $1999 • Pro isn't really a good value at $499 either (Price good, features lacking) • Splash Screen removal is nice • I'm not a fan of royalties. If this happened, I'd use other software • I think Game Center should be a pro feature • Reasons - Not to cheapen Game Center and to help keep the lights on in Austin • If Game Center is Pro only, then the GameSalad team should say so immediately
...and I had the feeling iAds would be wimpy, but I upgraded to Pro in order to test the feature for myself.
Also, I'm not a fan of GameSalad being free to publish. If that's their marketing strategy, that's up to them to decide. I think it's a bad idea. There are better ways to make GameSalad popular.
• Put the viewer on the iTunes App Store • Put the software on the Mac App Store • Encourage developers to make hit games... AND GIVE THEM INCENTIVES TO MENTION GAMESALAD... like an affiliate program and contests.

I agree with every single point you mentioned, especially with the trade-off "pricing vs. features". This was even the reason for my strong criticism to GS in the past, when the cost was 2K. Also, to be fair with you, I have to say I agree with most of your comments and suggestions.
What bothers me is to see, every time a new feature is released, some users (not you ) asking to have it for free.
IMO, these, plus performance improvement, are the features that would make the GS the ideal product (for me):
- Game Center (Leaderboards and Achievements) - In-App Purchases - Universal Binaries - URL redirecting + expression editor integration - Facebook Connect / Twitter integration
I swear I don't want to make campaign in favor of "the other Lua framework" but, has anyone seen how they promote the games from its customers? Here we have a bunch of great games being made, but only two of three developers (always the same ones) being highlighted.
6.1 million for the second (is it right, second?) round of investments is a good amount. GS is REALLY an awesome product and I believe GS guys will do an even better work with this injection of money.
JamieOneil said: When is GameCenter aimed to be released ? is it next week ?
Nothing official has been stated besides "Spring".
If BOT is finished before Game Center is added to GameSalad, then I might be so relaxed about the matter. But right now, it's a pretty good pace for me. BOT should be done in the Spring too.

Very true. GS should have a far better system of promoting games made with their product. Perhaps help with advertising. I could suggest that they offer GS games a place inside discounted bulk ads placed on partner sites.
IMHO in-app purchases are far more important than Game Center. We can use in app purchases to 1) create level unlock for fee which would eliminate the need to create lite versions and 2) we could make money on other stuff inside the games. __________________
