Hello!

Please use this sticky to report any bugs that you experience with the 0.9.6 release. Our GameSalad team will be monitoring this thread in order to provide the best possible release experience for our users.

Here are some current known 0.9.6 issues.

Legacy Issues with Creator:

-Assets:  Replacing or deleting images currently in a scene can lead to white boxes displaying in the library. Refreshing your project will fix the issue.
-Audio:  .Ogg files not playing on older laptops.

Current 0.9.6 bugs:

-GS Viewer:  Tile wrap images with resolution independence are not properly scaling.
-Marketplace / Library:  Importing the same purchased asset in twice, then replacing, causes white box issue

    I was working on a new project for a client in 0.9.5 and right as you all release the update to 0.9.6, it crashed the older version and ALL of my work was lost. This does not give me a great preview to 0.9.6. Well now I've got to start from scratch and go back to saving every 2 minutes!

    opening the viewer on your device before you open your game in GS on your computer causes the game not to load on your device,only way to load your game on your device for testing is to open the game in GS then open the viewer on your device then press preview and it will load fine any other way crashes or doesn't load.

    Also this build has resized some of my images on GS viewer but seem to show fine on GS on my computer.

    I'm not sure if this is a bug or something, but the new gamesalad update just added 0.5MB to my game randomly :/

    An important rule of a game spawner got broken (well, partially broken).

    I have an invisible spawner with this rule:

    For 5.5 seconds
    Every 1 second
    Spawn actor

    The first level I load will fail to load 1 actor. If I reload the level it works fine.

    What happened???

    Ok that thing I just posted... seemed to be just a strange random thing. I quit GameSalad and when I opened it again it seems to be working fine...

    Sorry about that :P. Hope it doesn't happen again.

    This is more of a website issue...

    The cookbook link... on the main navigation menu... is not active on all parts of the GameSalad.com website. As an example, the forum part of the website links to the old wiki instead of the cookbook.

    Anyone else having issues with their sound now? My audio works fine in gamesalad preview and viewer, but when I make an ad-hoc it screws it up. It actually starts to play but then cuts out almost like the volume is changing. Then if I do things like pause the game the song continues playing but not from the beginning so that leads me to believe that it is playing like it's supposed to, its just the music volume changing or something weird. I'm trying to enter a contest and can't with a broken game. :(

    Yeah, my music isn't working correctly either in ad-hoc. But it does work correctly in the viewer. I have two music files, one for intro music and another loop track for game play. The intro music plays but the second track won't start. And when I try to reset my game using the in game reset button I made neither tracks plays. This was working on my older builds and I haven't messed with it.

    Well crap! I hope this can get fixed by the end of the month. I don't have much time left before I lose the name of my game to apple forever.

    From what I can tell I think I'm right with the music glitch. I put a bunch of change attributes everywhere to change the music volume to 1 and it seems to work fine. For some reason GameSalad is dropping the volume to 0 when dealing with music behaviors.

    The music volume is also zero if I hit the home button to close the app and reopen it.

    is it just me or the otherwise fail again when the if-then statement is nested.

    if A=1
    then

    change attribute A=0
    change image A
    After 1 second
    change image B

    otherwise

    change attribute A=A+1
    Change image B

    After 1 second
    If A=1
    change image A
    otherwise
    change image B
    change attribute A=A+1(this part will run right after 3 lines above)

    the logic isn't exactly what i have but, you get the idea, when i nest the if-then statement ... the 3rd nested otherwise doesn't work.

    anyway i'll check my logic again to see if i'm hitting myself on the toe here.

    updated*. it's 5th level nested if-then( i use if-then because that's what i learned, but i guess in GS term it's When-then-otherwise)

    @gamersrejoice: You can submit all of your screenshots, icon, write your description and submit your binary that you have. Then instantly reject it. That will 'reset the clock'.

    You simply have to submit the first binary within four months, not necessarily the completed game.

    I have been working on my current game for 7 months now, and have already done this without problems.

    I must be doing something wrong when I installed the new previewer, now when it opens on my iphone, there's only the GS logo and not the Recent Games button or the usual "Wifi connected,etc" message and GS editor never gives me the Preview on iphone button at all.

    Almost all my images are in the wrong size (changed from tretch to fixed, etc) hope that my game project is not broken!!!

    thank god the image thing is not just me,shows up fine on GS but on my phone tiny,like its loading the half size image thing for RI older phones.

    Yeah some pictures are totally crazy, not at the correct place, not the correct size, blurry, ETC.... hope that a fix will be available SOON....

    I'm loosing so much time on my project

    i have the same problem also :( , i will go back to 9.5 waiting for that to be fixed

    as i understand when u use a file that was made in old (0.95) some thing goes wrong. No thing really to do to resolve it. Just to make a new file. Its sucks- I was 24 hours before relise!

    Even the simple basic logic isn't working in 9.6?
    I have something like this rule: when lives>0 and actoronscreen=0 spawn actor
    this doesn't work anymore in 9.6 , so how I'm supposed to spawn new main actor after his death?

    Nope, something is wrong.
    I have just put 2 control actors which shows these 2 attributes used to spawn.
    These attributes changes correctly but nothing is spawned.

    same here fenix66. Yesterday I copy my AdHocGame to the IPad, everything runs, no probs so far. Today I install 0.96...

    I use some attrib to aquire different targets, and after the update the game don't reflect it and I have some weired reactions in my game.
    After some tests I came to the same result like you fenix, game logic is broken.

    I downgrade to the 0.95 Version, load my project - and voila, no strange behaviors, Game runs as expected.

    I wrote a longer post a few days ago, there was a problem with the server, can't upload the game etc. Here we go with the same problems.

    there is no test method? A template with all behaviors prior to roll out to check if it works? Is there any Quality Assurance? Every time I trembled, every time I make backup copies of all what has to do with GS and each time a new feature comes in exchange for new bugs.

    For your information, after downgrading the GS Viewer won't work with 0.95.
    Tested with 0.95 and with the 0.96 Viewer - no chance at all.

    If anybody find a solution for this, please post it here.
