1. The numbers are embarrassingly low.
2. The numbers don't mean anything to the person.
3. We all 'work' here. One of life's greatest lessons, I feel, is not to share info with regard to your pay packet with fellow workers. It can only really breed resentment, especially amongst those with the same job title, if there are discrepancies in pay amount.
4. Joe tells us his figures, for example, to inspire, not show off. They're ridiculously large. Most people will never see 1% of his sales figures, and so don't feel it important to divulge that info.
5. Fear of copycats - people seem to be looking for games that 'sell' - often, the question is 'how are sales?'. While it may be perfectly innocent, the cynic in me imagines those asking thinking 'If sales are good, I'm making a game like that next!'.
6. It's none of your business
I can think of a few others, but those are the main ones I think

Very well said, but I think more importantly, #6 spells it out.
You don't go asking your co-workers at a hospital (for example) how much they make. I wouldn't go ask a surgeon how much he pulls in every year, and wouldn't ask fellow nurses how much they make.
In the real world you don't ask people that question, just like you don't discuss religion or politics at a dinner table.
It's up to the dev to reveal their sales figures, otherwise I don't think people should be asking.

I've caused a total mess on the forums, haha, how did it come to this? Actually we all have caused a total mess. What was the point of all this childish bickering again?
When you make a game, and it's your own craft, and creation, it's tough to hear other people's opinions on graphics, layout, and overall presentation.
You can't take it personally, as much as it might sting to hear feedback, it's best to lay back and slowly take it in. Granted you're not going to listen to every person's feedback, but take it into consideration when you update your game.
It's not a personal attack on *you*, but it sure feels like it when it's your game and your creation. We've all been there
Same goes with reviews on itunes, I took it to heart a long time ago, now I read them and improve my games upon people's feedback. They're not attacking you, they're sitting behind a computer screen, giving feedback, and I'm sure the reception would be much different in person.
+1 you cant take stuff this personal. No offense but if you though tendremer's comments were a personal attack, you wont last long in this industry at all. Customers, reviews and review sites will all bash the crap out of even alot of good games with excellent graphics. It all comes with the job.

Yea sorry about that. It's just hard to put your heart and soul into something and then have it shreaded in the forums
I agree with you, but see I've got the message. The art is not good enough. The reason I got so aggravated was because people kept on telling me over and over again. I only need one person to tell me that for it to stick, ya know?

It wasn't just him, it was everyone as a whole. But just forget it, its all behind us now.
Yeah don't take it to heart, this is your first game is it not? Pat yourself on the back for even getting a game on the app store, period, and it's not a bad start.

Look forward to seeing future apps!
Thanks butterbean. I actually have more apps out in the store right now, that were created after this one. And they are a lot better than this one. This was my first try.

What exactly do you mean by "beaten to death?" Do you mean that it is an idea that is overused?
