Hey All,
I've been working on a Application that will allow you to work on GameSalad projects on both your Mac and iPad. Since Tables are now out, this is possible. So using tables, you'll be able, using an editor, create a .csv file that will sync via Dropbox and iCloud to your Mac. Then you import the .csv file into the GS template that I have created and the work that you have done on your iPad will be on your Mac.

EDIT: Since the Video keeps confusing everyone, I'll just put a link here for it.

I'm telling everyone about it to see what the community would think of an application that does this.

Is this some sort of mobile programming thing? Sorry, but I hove no idea what the video was talking about. Could you clarify?

    Yeah What is this exactly
To me it sounds like you are making some third party software that allows GS to be controlled by your ipad. but what would GS's features have anything to do with it?

Hmm. I was thinking of starting a project like this. For a way to test simple behaviors in a gamesalad editor app for the iPad. Without using tables tho. I dont care for tables right now.

so I then realized my apps are my priority. Some else will create one. :)

I dont think anyone should get to excited. Its not going to be GS on the iPad it sounds like a spread sheet editing app. I dont get it. Your gonna need to explain more. And please just make a new post with more info dont just edit the original

Thanks Everyone for commenting on this post, I just needed to know if I go and put in the hours needed to make this Application that people would actually have some interest in it and are willing to use it. This application will be Free (however I may have In-App purchases for extra content, but exporting and creating will be Free just as GameSalad has it now). And this will NOT be a spreadsheet editor. Simply put, this will be GS for the iPad.

I was vague on purpose and will keep everyone up to date as I have decided to proceed with the development of this application due to the interest of community. I will be keeping a blog up to date as well @: gsbot.thecodemonsters.com/

I already sent them an e-mail a couple of days ago, but decided to start development to get the minor things out of the way. However, I will stop development if they're not okay with this.

If this is GameSalad for iPad, you need permission from the GameSalad company or that would be illegal. Or, you could make it but with a different name and a different look. If you do make this though, I would be very interested.

Pretty sure you can't do it buddy. As great as it would be to have GS on my iPad, it probably violates a whole bucketload of Gamesalad terms and conditions.

I agree with Ace, you would need to talk to the team.

    In theory it sounds great.

I just got a response from GS, and I will be having a conference call with them to discuss the application further, however they do sound very intrigued by the idea and everything looks great so far.

So how likely is this project right now?

    @Mr.Rinoy
I feel like this project has a pretty good chance of getting accepted by GS (the company). And remember this project is not violating any Terms of Service (as I read through it), as far as I can tell. But i still want GS's support before I go and do something like this. And GS seems interested in this.

So right now it's like a 80%-90% likelihood, I would say.

Lol..... Make an iPad version of GameSalad in GameSalad... that sounds easy!

I will be writing the iPad application with Xcode, however the real magic will be in the GameSalad template I make.

Not necessarily, I'm simply writing an application that will have a similar interface to GS and will generate a sort of "Code" that you can copy/paste into another application (made with GS) that will simulate it on your device and/or you can export a .csv file to the GS Template, so you can continue working on the project in GameSalad.

Thanks, I have a mind for programing. It's one of my "God Given Gifts". And I'm very thankful for it.

Seems like a complicated project it is already complicated if you are using Xcode, I hate the interface, I wish it was simpler like Eclipse (IDE for Java). Anyways good luck and hopefully you can get this project done with the support of GS Inc.

    Good Luck, youngster9
  • LeonardDeveloperLeonardDeveloper Member Posts: 4,630
Brilliant... But you won't be able to make this until gs brings out native code, As youlll have to rewrite the app all over again :-?

Haha the ironic thing is that I find Eclipse much more complicated than Xcode, even though Eclipse is much less complicated. That's mostly because I started with Xcode and am very used to it's complexities. And thanks for wishing me good luck, I'll need it lol.
