Hey guys, @StormyStudios mentioned meeting up in London for GSC users - informal, socialise, chat, drink & talk about GSC.. or the weather.... :wink:

So I thought I'll get some organising done... The meeting place will be London... sorry if out of bounds for some UK folk & non-UK folk....

I think it's a good idea that it's late afternoon/early evening, on a Saturday, that way people are more likely to attend and stay a little longer (no work the next day).... a free venue, so obvious choice is a pub. One in the West End... OK, so far:

*** GSC Users Summer Meetup ***

Location: London, UK

Venue: a decent pub somewhere in the West End

Time: start from say, 5.30 to 6.30pm onwards ...

Date: ah, that's what this poll WAS for.... :) Now Saturday 2nd August 2014

**EDIT: It seems "majority rules" is happening already, 4 people, including myself, have agreed on Saturday 2nd August, so that's when the GSC Users Summer Meetup is going to be (and you've seen I've amended this thread title too... (making the poll below redundant now...)) **

Hope you can make it...

It'd be great to meet some of you guys and put faces to names!

    19th is my prefered date but could accommodate any other except 5th July.

    I'll meet you guys there... Just pay for my plane ticket and such. Sound good?

    Tentative yes to the 2nd of august. Our social calender that I keep being told is 'clear all summer' seems pretty damn busy to me. (Lots of people booking in to visit now we live near the Devon coast).

    Be great to see some fellow users with a beer or 2 included.

    Also will give some added reason to speed up production on 'the game' so I can play test it with people who might give some useful critism.

    I'm glad you suggested a weekend! 2nd August could be good for me or the last two weeks in July. Would be good to meet everyone, swap notes and talk games :D

    Hmm... tempted to buy a plane ticket to join in ;)

    That's great to hear, BC, even tho' I don't fully understand what you're saying... :wink:

    Do you mean that, during the time of the meet up, you'd be willing for us to Skype with you from the pub (via a laptop, of course...) ?

    Or for anyone to Skype with you who's setting up a meet up in the UK (myself in this case) before the meetupto get more info about aspects of it, or something? Sorry for my slowness here!

    @gingagaming @StormyStudio @YoRooster

    Sounding like 2nd August it's going to be, guys! That's four of us, including myself so far for that date.

    So I'll make an "executive decision" ;) and say that's going to be the actual date; anyone else who'd like to come along to a London West End pub meet up (and you'd be very welcome, the more the merrier) it'll be on Saturday 2nd August.

    I'll pass the collection glass around, Bray... ;)

    Hey, you know it would have been great to meet you if you could have made it... B) but to travel from America is a bit out of bounds, understood...

    You know you'd be most welcome too, Ludwig; also great to meet you if you could make it! Not that expensive from Germany to England, on a plane, I guess.... ;)

    So sorry :blush: - I've always thought you were from Germany! Well then, from Holland, equally cheap to travel from, to the UK, nowadays.... (I'm trying to persuade you, would be excellent to meet you too...) B)

    P.S your vid. clip addition, Faulty Towers, excellent comedy! (That's all I'm saying there, so as to continue to be diplomatic... o:) )

    I do have a very German name so the mistake is easily made.
    But enough about me. Back on topic ;)

    Oh damn, I've only just seen this and literally just got off the phone arranging to go to Leicester on the 2nd. Bugger, would have been nice to put some names to faces (that I normally read by lurking)

    Ah, what a shame, Mike ... majority decision rules I'm afraid, not sure that date can be changed now... maybe we'll meet you another time...

    Wayne and I have spoke about coming down but think it will depend how many are definitely going as we have a busy schedule.

    If the pub does nice food and is close to St Pancras thats a plus too :P

    The new area around the back of Kings Cross / St Pancras is pretty nice, it's got a couple of nice pubs, might be a good place to meet.

    @DeepBlueApps

    Hey Darren, if you can make it, that'd be terrific to finally meet up with you and Mark after all this time! And @Socks too, if I read between the lines correctly and he'll be there as well. :smile:

    OK, people attending at the moment as far as I know: @gingagaming @StormyStudio @YoRooster @gyroscope and if you and Mark can make it, and @Socks that'll make 7 of us so far ...(hey, I know you can count too :wink: )

    Sounding good to me, hopefully that's going to be good for the others as well... so why don't we run with that then, unless one of @gingagaming @StormyStudio @YoRooster has any particular objections? So unless decided otherwise, a nice pub near St.Pancras it'll be - that's honing it a bit more... I'll have a look soon to see what's around and about that area as I'm sure you will too.

    OK, BFN. :smiley:

    @gingagaming Hi, I can confirm The GSC Users Summer Meetup definitely is going ahead, it'll be on Saturday 2nd August; what I can't confirm at this time is how many will be there (possibly between 4 and 7 people so far...) or where it's going to be held... but that last aspect should be sorted soon, I hope (somewhere not far from St.Pancras station as you know).... :smile:

    I was actually referring to that new plazza right outside the new St Martins College of art building, the big building with the massive silver zig-zag across it, it's 30 seconds walk from Kings Cross / St Pancras and 10 minutes walk from Euston, right on Regent's canal.

    Right, @Socks - got it now - OK, so the venue will be somewhere here, if that's OK for everyone else:

    Sounding a good place. Any suggestions of a particular pub on this new plaza?

    And you'll be able to make it too, @Socks? It'd be great to meet you in person. :smile:

    @imjustmike

    Good to hear, Mike; it'll be great to meet you and your friend too. :)

    I'm assuming the date showing in your post was your original choice though - so you realise it's 2nd August - thought it best to check...

    Not many suggestions being made for a venue... I guess I'll suggest the venue - I'll find a decent place soon.
