You know, I'm really about feed up with people that make nothing but excuses or point blame rather than adapting. Maybe that's because I work in an industry were there is no excuse for excuses (you would literally loose your job and everyone would know about your inability). I see folks on here that talk up about how serious they are about development, then we see threads like this. I have to wonder how much productivity time was lost over all this.
It is their Stream and you ARE swimming it in. The creator belongs to GS and it IS theirs, and it is not your position to barter their product, services and terms. WOW! terms of agreement wheeeeeeee!
I'm not going to go out on a quest for you to locate examples, but perhaps if you participated in developer forums outside gamesalad, you would hear this very familiar tune. It's been a topic since last year on many sites and forums (and conferences).
I'm not sure I agree that GS should provide free access to the GS GDK (it opens up a whole can of worms) and most certainly support should not be free. GS is a business not a dreamy eyed-video game development charity.
Yeah agreed. Something about Gamedev just entices "dreamy-eyed" people. The reality of it is much harsher. Software changes happen, companies come and go, the market for games changes every few years, etc, etc.
It is not an industry for the weak or light of heart. The ability to adapt, immense willpower, and a "get knocked down, get back up" attitude are pretty much a MUST.

I am done with gamesalad for good.
Thanks for breaking many many dreams.
Ps. 13 year old doesn't earn money
You're probably still at a good age where you can pick up another package easily enough or even learn to code so you don't have to give up on those dreams just yet!
Most will have some cost included but almost all of them let you use it for free for as long as you want until you're ready for publishing. Google "Alternatives to GameSalad" and look at the list on the alternativeto.net site.

Does anyone else know any good softwares out there like gamesalad which are free. Yes free!
If you're really serious about game development learning a programing language like Java or Swift is the best course of action. Yes it doesn't give you instant gratification like GS but if you maybe want a career in the field it's a must. My youngest son is 18 and headed to college to study game design and he's been working with Java and such for years now. Most of his first classes are on programing in objectX.

I can see both sides of the coin here. For the Pro users, this is not a very big deal. Just more options to continue to use the software. I like the plans offered, personally. I now have monthly options to consider without being tied down to a yearly subscription and waste those months of inactivity that I so frequently come across.
If you've never purchased Pro, and never had any intentions of going Pro, then this is a bummer, I agree. To say to GameSalad that this is a bad business decision and assume they will fail because of it, is just silly. You're just upset. Apparently their current method became the bad business decision, because they can't maintain themselves with it, so things have to change. Doesn't matter what you do or who you work for, you don't know what it's like to run GameSalad, and you have no insight to it's future. To those free uses that say they will leave GameSalad because of this, I hope you will take a couple of days, and reconsider. Some of the younger users will have no other choice but to leave since they may not have any monetary resources, and that sucks, but as they stated, continuing on with the current plan is no longer feasible. I hope GameSalad does what it needs to do to keep the doors open, because obviously the current method was not going to do that. I personally would rather continue to pay to keep GameSalad around than watch them fade away forever.
Now if you feel you have to run (which is a real shame) sit back with your purchase and spend a couple of weeks getting into Unity. The documentation and learning resources are world class and you can dip your toes into C# or Javascript or a little bit of both. You will also likely start learning the fun of 3D modelling which if you enjoy it will be something you can use for the rest of your life. Start now and if you have a bit of natural talent you could be knocking out AAA class 3D assets in a couple of years or considerably less The job market for people with the skills to create quality assets is growing exponentially - your name could be in the credits of a blockbuster movie before you hit your twenties !!

A lot of emotion and assumptions are being thrown out here, seems to me that the actual facts of the whole situation are being overlooked.

VFX is a brutal, brutal business. Even more brutal than game development, I'm afraid.
