Hello all,
About two weeks ago I posted my first game called Flag Battles. I didn't get much feed back which gave me concerns. If you played it could you tell me what you liked or didn't like? I've been around here a long time. When people don't post it means they don't have any positive feedback for you. Many get slammed for negative feedback which is a shame when you want an honest opinion around here.
I didn't play it but from the shots I would say you definitely need a graphics upgrade. It's a long process to becoming a polished developer so keep at it!

I don't get the second scene? Is it a level menu?
Why are enemies numbered 1?
What happens when I run out of bullets? I just die?
Don't like your key selection. Why not just use arrows? Current keys are awkward.
I think graphics are okay. I would focus on gameplay. I like the player. I think he's cool!!! Shooting is good.
Agree with gattoman, adding that I initially was very very confused with what to do or what was the point? Step back and open the game like you had never played it. Then make tweaks to gameplay based upon those observations
I think theres a cool little game in there...... Don't give up!
The game is a bit confusing.
I like the light effect on the pole at the start. No idea what it is but it looks cool.
Should be a little more clear what we are to do. And more importantly WHY?
I love your little player guy. Give him a name and a clear mission...

Yes and I did upgrade the graphics. And I was going for a retro-ish feel.

At the start of game. Things moving up and down.
It must not unload properly on your browser
Because I have the meteor spawners moving up and down
It might be the meteors that are supposed to have a rocky image
@jdlcrater Should add a bar at the top of the screen or maybe change the color so your health and objectives are a little easer to read. Right now it gets a little lost.
Other then that starting to look great!
Thanks @RCT_Games. I noticed that and will work on it. I think it would be cool if GS added an invert text color from background color. That would be awesome
@jdlcrater Yeah that would be a cool feature, could see peoples eyes freaking out on a bonus level or something lol.
Yeah, your graphics are retro. And the character and plants have an interesting look. But the backgrounds need more than just solid colors. You have to put gradients and texure in them.
Check out the dirt in the background here. it's got a lot of texture instead of just being brown.

I would also scale down the font size it's distracting. Maybe go with life icons instead of text.
Yes. But in the end you can get up to 20 health. Maybe I could just make it red squares?

Is it health or lives? If it's health you can do a bar. If lives just make the fonts smaller.
