thats 3000 active Forum users. Not people actually using the creator to make Games. Everyone that uses Game Salad does not come here for help. And yeah I think if they leave Pro at $500 and keep adding great features they will Sell double those required numbers. And Oh wait They're gonna get that yearly from all of us who keep on using. And Geez not to mention the influx they will get around christmas each year. How many of us bought pro and an upgrade for $99 last christmas. Thats a whole lot of renewals coming in one big shot each year.
Masala |məˈsälə| noun any of a number of spice mixtures ground into a paste or powder for use in Indian cooking. • a dish flavored with this : chicken masala. verb • to masala: to melt one's face
liquid physics mold-able collision shapes or labeling groups with colours would melt my face :P
im pretty content with gamesalad but then again im only working on my first game but still i can't imagine what would be so great! i really hope its not fcu*ing facebook integration lol
I am almost positive it's not integration with Facebook for one main reason. In the thread "Is Project Masala Project Spartan?", Tshirtbooth had barely any excitement.

@Tenrdrmer that's what makes me think. The "Industry changing" part. What possible feature will allow GameSalad apps to be better then something made in Xcode?
Photics said: Some of the things posted make sense though. How will GameSalad make back that +7 million dollars... and then significant profit?
That's 15,000 pro subscriptions... in a community with little more than 3000 active members... many here for the free version of GameSalad.
However, I disagree with the relocation assistance thing. It's a customer service job. The biggest requirement is having experience with the software... heh... software that's REALLY EASY to use. I certainly would not want to pay relocation assistance for a job that. I'd want someone local. Austin is supposedly a tech hub, so there must be some local talent that can handle the gig. If not, they shouldn't be paying for relocation assistance... they should be the ones relocating!
no, there is way less than 3000 3000 is just how many people post
I can think less than 300 members that is active(also, I think everyone's standard of active is different)
I don't know how GS is going to make the 6 mill back, but think should take % from the free users
P.S. there is no ways that a sous will tell us, the GS team won't let them
Even at $10k for relocation fees, for good talent, it is peanuts to the $7.5 million dollars invested. The individual with knowledge will make that money back to the company in no time.
Bendai games received $1 million dollar funding a while back. The angels/vc's that gave them the initial chunk of money have whats called Series A, or preferred shares. Then Steamboat came in, and gave them Series B. At a 1 million dollar original valuation, if the original VC's took 40% of the company, that left with with 60% for Steamboat. Less 10% for the founders and employees. From that 10% the CEO gets at least 10%-15% and everyone else, the rest, is divided between the other founders and new talent. New talent, does not even get a point of the company. Even if they sell 15,000 copies at $500, that basically means that the vc's made their money back and talent and owners walked away with zero dollars. At most, even the hottest talent, will probably get 50,000 shares. How much money do you think the company has to be sold or bought out for in order for the individual to be able to buy a house? Do the math. Even if the company sold at 50million and each share is worth 4 dollars. 4*50,000 = 200,000. I would have made 200k after your year vesting period. What if it sells before? and I have only vested one year? And once you move to a new company, they will reset your vesting schedule. You know what. I rather go work for corporate where I will just work from nine to five and if the company falls apart I won't give a hoot. I got laid off from a startup, I put in 80 hours a week for what is worth. And I didn't even get a severance package. The company received $8 million in funding and sold for just a little over $2 mill.
Now what am afraid of? to invest my time and effort into learning a new product, put what energy I have left into a framework only to go belly up. By far Gamesalad is the easiest of them all. Great product. But there are shortcomings and I can't, even at this stage, unemployed spend $500 on pro, and go in head first and then realize that all my effort was to waste.
Maybe I got burned at the song and dance of a startup, but that is reality and I see some of that here.
"Does version 0.9.5 include ANY features from here?

No, just kidding, I don't know what box2d is. Personally(even though it's on the roadmap) I am hoping for joints.
just sounds interesting really hate the fact that your teasing everyone with it though...can we at least get a more definitive date...i don't want to be thinking about this only to find its coming out like in 2months or something...its already delayed a month according to some other posts..is it coming this week? or maybe next week?
