The very basic guide to what you need to do: • On the first day of the contest 01/01/12, I'll announce a theme and any other secret details. • You make your game to the best standard you can. It does not have to be 100% finished or submitted to the app store, but the more finished, and polished the better your chances of scoring points in all the areas. (You can download the scoring system from the above link too.)...more points for originality and gamesalad use than for graphics and sound.
(This time I'd like to encourage all games to be GS arcade friendly, so landscape and the correct dimensions...it would just be nice to give the option for the judges and everyone to play them. It's not essential that you submit to the arcade though as you may have your own reservations or want to wait till the game is perfect.)
• Then create a video showing the gameplay (put it up on YouTube) and add it to the appropriate forum thread before the deadline. You'll need to provide a video even if you've put it up on GS arcade, incase the Arcade has down time or gets reworked which is beyond our control.
• I'll then compile all the videos into a nice webpage (like last time http://www.stormystudio.com/totb3_entries.html) alongside a a paragraph of text. This time you'll be limited to around 100 words max to describe why your game should be the winner.
................................................................................................ Thats it for now, but it will all become clearer as we approach the end of the year.
and we're getting a new forum before the contest too... the people at GameSalad towers are really treating us this week. A pro licence for the contest and now this...
Hopefully it will make for some better controls and a way for each entrant to run their own cool game development thread like never before.
Ok, I know I say this EVERY contest, but I should have my current project finished by the first of the year, so depending on what the theme is, I'd love to participate!
PDL Productions would also love to offer up all our templates (Vertical/Horizontal Level Select System and Target Practice Template) to the winner(s) of the contest!
I'm in. Hopefully this year I can make a better game than I did last year! (I was jrhoda1, with Current Rider, lol.) What time will the theme be announced?
stormystudio said: Just one entry per developer. As the idea is you submit your best work based on the given theme. So the more time you put in the better.
Well we are up to 22 on people saying yes and quite a few maybes.
More prizes always welcome ? Anything from deep blue apps (you guys were going to check).
I've had zero time to work on Gamesalad the past few days. . . Hopefully jump back on it in my spare time this coming week. Will update the contest pages on my site too.

That's really good news! My subscription (with the extension) is due on february 2012 so I will give my best in the competition.
These might change a bit but not much this time.

I'll add it to the list later. Goo luck with the contest too if you can take part.
Edit: Do all of the games have to be landscape, or could I submit a portrait game?
But it would be nice to share your games on the arcade (landscape only I believe) for people to play when you submit them but it's not essential.
Had a busy few days doing family stuff but will update the prize list later.
Cheers
