@SaladStraightShooter - oh I'm sorry to hear that you suffer from migraines - I can commiserate with you totally. (Detergents and lily smells and tea tree/eucalyptus scents seem to really set them off for me too).
This is a great thread, thanks to @Waymanharris for starting it - it's nice to see where the regs are from!
I forgot to mention I'm in my thirties (but not for much longer, sigh).
I'm just blown away by the diversity of the game developing community in GameSalad - you can be anyone from anywhere and still create games. Honestly, I see it as really innovative and revolutionary in that regard - and a major contribution to an economy where people are having to find new career paths. Not to mention I think it fuels creativity in the app market - if you don't have a big studio to answer to, you can take concepts a lot further, and the games being made with GS that I've seen I think show that!
Wow, haven't been back here in a loooooong time. I'm William Cox, a photographer and graphic designer. I made a few games back in the earlier days with GS, all still on the app store. All are free now. I see a lot of new names and I'll try to check out some of the new games being made. I'd like to do some more someday when time allows. Heck of a lot of fun.
Hey all, my name is John from QLD Australia, I've been making games (well trying to anyway) on gamesalad since around October last year. I quit my job this year to go back to TAFE and study interactive digital media. Its nice to meet you all. Heres a pic of me since most other people are sharing. Good luck to everyone with their games.
Hey! My name is Tim and I'm from Wollongong, Australia (near Sydney). I'm 28, have published 3 games, and working on a few more! (^_^) I've only fairly recently (2 years?) been trying to move towards game dev.
Sorry for the photo, I don't have many to pick from. Me and my wife of 3 years.
I'm James, 21, from Nucla, Colorado, Married-but-separate, with a 3 y/o son. I'm currently taking classes for a Bachelor of Science in Game Design at Full Sail U. Online. I decided to take classes because I didn't really have any useful job skills (at least, not on a resumé), but I've been doing graphic design for fun for 8 years and I had gotten into modding PC games, so I decided to run with it when I got the chance. I heard about GameSalad through my classes, and decided to check it out. I'm new so any tips would be nice. Best of luck to everyone, I hope to meet some interesting designers here and maybe a few future colleagues as well.
I am Tyler Sullivan here in Rancho Palos Verdes, CA. about 45 minutes from LA. All I do is school, GameSalad, and Netflix.......but mostly GameSalad. I have been working on my first app for the last 6 months now, it is done but I have just been running into issues with the Certs, and application loader so I hope to have my first app up and out soon. Unfortunately I have no idea how to code but I want to so badly. I feel as though I have a good understanding of GS, and I love it! These forums are my lifelines and I love them so much. Thanks to all of you who have helped me, and thanks to the ones helping me now.
@POLYGAMe Oops, well thanks for posting in this thread then..hee hee. Ha
@LiosStudios Thanks for your post, FYI, if you have a good understanding of gamesalad, you are closer to being a "Programer" than you think! It's all OOP.(object oriented Programing )
Best of luck with that game, and thanks for the post in this forum.
Hello to all! My name is Steve Ball. I've worked for nearly 20 years in the TV computer animation industry, starting on Season 1 of "Reboot" way back in 1994... Yikes! I'm getting old ( just turned 50 ). Interested in a career change, I quit my job last May and have been working hellbent on a video game for iPhone, using Game Salad. There have been tons of challenges so far but I'm loving it! I've visited the forum many times for insight in addition to watching countless tutorial videos posted on Youtube. I'd like to thank everyone who goes out of there way to provide such valuable guidance. It's much appreciated! I look forward to joining this vibrant community. Cheers!
Hey guys! I am Alex and I am from Austria. I am 18 years old and graduated from school last summer. I am going to study Software Engineering in October. I LOVE games since I was a child. I work on my own games with my team and I am also a member of Translation Rockstars.
Thanks for the post, I agree; I too find it that GS has a really helpful and active forum. Best of luck with your games and career change. I'm sure you'll find yourself using all the skills you've acquired over the years in your game development process.
I'm Don, 31' just moved to Ocean grove, Australia with my wife. I have a 3d animation degree and love art. Always wanted to make games. Gamesalad seem to be a nice platform. While I'm recovering from my eye surgery and havent found a job, I thought I give this a go.
Working on my first game, endless runner, as it seem quite quick to get in to and know the software.
No doubt I will be asking loads of help, so thanks in advance
Thanks for the post man, and welcome to the forum, I try to respond quicker normally, but I'm still recovering from depression with losing the "Unicorn Apocalypse Contest" Ha :^o Those runners seem to be pretty popular when created right! Best of luck with your game, and I'm sure you'll find an endless amount of help here in different forums. :-h
