As Judge and since Leonard and Oz screwed up the time I'm allowing until 9:00am US est time to post your video. so no matter what time it is where you are you have one hour and 20 minutes.
@ozboybrian You didn't have any time set it just said 24 hrs... You screwed it up :P No it was neither of our faults people just got confused between 12 nighttime and 12 lunchtime...
@fryingbaconstudios We can't do that! :P Then it would be 30 hrs... Just let mother do hers until that time... Don't extend the whole contest @ozboybrian (Turn on your Skype now!!)
Looks great - and thanks Brian for creating such a fun and intense (well, I was sleeping most hours I believe) speed game jam! And thanks to everyone who contributed with prizes too
@FryingBaconStudio .. I would take you up on the private viewing but i don't think thats fair to the rest. Lets just say i do win, how would everyone else feel about a winner being something they haven't seen?
@FryingBaconStudios I apologize for the mix up. This is what happens when you only get an hour sleep. Clock numbers start looking like different numbers. LOL Again I am sorry.
Yes I am and I'm the Judge! So you all have one hour to post a video time stamped by the forum one hour from the time stamp on this post. Go...! @beefy just wanted to make sure you had a chance. You could always post some images. I think the people here know I'm honest and truthful to a fault...lol That is no contest..LMAO
@FBS ... Yes honesty has certainly came out as a trait of yours. haha. I wouldn't want to show images either, its the whole style of the game i wouldn't feel comfortable with sharing, i haven't got enough completed to show it publicly!
Honest but fair .. yes. So you don't like sugar coat ... doesn't make you a bad person. lol.
I'll tell you what lads, i'll make a video of where the game is at in its present form, when i come to announcing it and showing it off, if you're still remotely interested i'll show you the early days vid then
OKay so I just would like everyone to know that I was asked to judge this and provide a prize. I am not part of the planing or lack of execution that Circus belongs to others. I do promise to review each submission and judge them honestly and without bias and to provide a transparent review for my choices. I have a point sheet given to me and am using that to tally up things and am not in charge of how the prizes are given out, only to judge by the sheet and rank by points in each section.
I would also like to point out that the scoring system and prize distribution was all set up by, @LeonardDeveloper. I didn't really agree or not agree to either. But he seems keen to help... However I would rather control any future 24 hr comps on my own or not be in charge at all lol. Things where simple then got complicated and .. yeah. Thanks to EVERYONE who took part. LOVE ALL THE ENTIRES! Great support. P.S Please like www.facebook.com/FabledApps
As pointed out by other members and mostly one who i won't mention! Bit he's a great guy.... Despite all the abuse and harassment he gave me! Anyway... I messed things up apparently! :P
OKay so the results are in and sent to Oz and Thermo. I'll let them do the other stuff best art et...
Let me explain how I judged each of the games and what I liked.
EatMyHat, This was my favorite of them all. I am a fan of the use of domestic items and such as art. This technique was made famous by Original Monty Python and film director Terry Gilliam. Anyone who has seen the shows knows what I'm talking about. I think this work shows glimpses of that and does it the right ways. Stuff like that can't be taught. This game would have won but sound was one of the categories and there was no sound at all so I was forced to put a zero in that column .
TshirtBooth, Once again he demonstrates he is a master at game play. He disguises complexity in a simple format and framework. I like the detail in the background of the soap drips and the natural physics of the game was stellar. The only thing that held this game back was the lack of a menu system with brief explanation of gameplay as that was a category I had to judge. But overall this game is something that looks addictive and fun!
Leonard Developer: This game has a nice relaxing vibe to it. It was executed technically perfect with a balanced approach in all areas, music, art, menu but I do think the gameplay could have been better, it was right there in the mix in all categories but the limited gameplay left it just short of wining.
Unicorninvasion: For a young chap this was an excellent job. I like that he used his own art and so I scored this high on originality! I enjoyed the fact that the birds started to pile up on you and make it difficult as this the secret to great addictive game play. But I thought the game play when hitting the fish could have been a bit better. This young man has a great beginning on making games.
OzboyBrian: I really appreciated the gameplay, adding the bugs to make you dive down adds a lot to the challenge of the game and is very well thought out. I also like the parallax work in this game and it added to it's art score. But where it fell behind is just on originality, as the art was great and music and gameplay but it looked like the usual suspects in these areas, so it missed a few points in that area. This though, is a game I would play too.
Killerpenguins: This is the overall WINNER. He squeaked out a win by having great scores in all areas. A good detailed menu system, good sound and music, good gameplay as I noticed the rings you have to grab et… and the art was detailed and used good parallax effect. This Game squeaked out a win, only by a few points, by meeting all the challenges well.
All the games came down to between a few points. This was very hard and I gave each category lots of thought and studied each game carefully. I hope my descriptions of each game helps you to see how I scored this contest. I know I am not perfect as I am human but I can tell you I did my best to be fair and honest in each category and that's how I took each game by the category sheet I was given.
You can see I was fair as my personal favorite was Eat My Hat but I judged by the sheet and not my personal wishes.
@FRyingbaconstudios @FBS Truly fair judging! Are you going to select the winning title or is Brian? Like for example... Best art + music Best gameplay 1st overall (done) ????????? And then I think Brian or you willahve to break up te prizes!
