The fix is currently being worked on. However, if you are PRO user- the interstitial ad stubs populating in Preview will in no way affect your game publishing. Simply make sure that you have ads disabled in Creator (if that is your intent) and you game will be published without ads as expected.
I cant believe this when I started Gamesalad years ago, it was an awesome indy FREE system, with the option of upgrading, the only alternative was MMF2, but that was a one time $300 charge for a superior system, so I stuck with this, then they changed their loading screen to an obnoxious ad, and now an ad every. single. scene. change. This is such absurd spamming, how can I sell paid apps as a free user any more, its no longer moral for the free version people to make paid apps . . .
The bad part of this is that i've been spending the last two and a half years learning gamesalad well, but I haven't been able to afford the full version. I assumed that it would stay useful, but unfortunately this happened, and i've wasted all that learning time.
It definitely does, my friends use it and beg me to, but its expensive ($300 ONE time fee) They make more money than me because they can release universal. . .
damn! i have spent ages learning this program and bought lots of templates to test my skills before I releaes my first App on the store. But this changes things slightly. I agree with @amitbhutani that if the Pro version was $99 I would buy it tomorrow without hesitation (switching off the ads completely) but its just too much money at the moment for someone who doesn't want to use Ads and spam the user when they are paying for my App as a Indie developer just touching the waters of the AppStore and iOS developing
@NMansell and others who complain about the price.. $300 is not bad. Hell it was just $500 (what i paid) a few months back. Its amazing how people can afford to buy ipod touches.. ipads.. and iphones..
Then when asked to pay for software that saves them YEARS of school and learning to make games for not just iOS but also Android and somehow they have no money or make it seem like GS is terrible for asking poor struggling developers to
I believe TSB has said this before.. what good is this software if the COMPANY closes its doors because it's not profitable. All of you out there who are freeloading off GS have no right to complain.. you don't.. you're not paying anything for the service! You don't pay anyones bills.. this ad system is how you are doing anything helpful. Free version is awesome! Thank the stars it is still free.
Be grateful! Stop whining.. if you can't afford $300.. or feel this will put your business under.. you're really lacking some perspective.. video game companies spent tons of money to make games.
I'm only sad they have to do this ad stuff at all because its pretty much an indication that they realize they have been losing money with all the freeloading users who are not upgrading to pro. They went down in price in hopes. I'm actually kinda sad they did drop the price because it means now they have to basically double the number of pro users to make the same income. I understand their reasoning and i believe in the product.
I would hate to have to use any other of these "code free" products because i've checked them out and they suck.. sure they might work.. but not nearly as fun to work with or as easy to work with, which is why we're all here..
Stop wasting your time on the forums complaining about pricing and get back to work making your games. I am not happy about the ad popup as a pro user either but THEY KNOW, move on.

come on now..
Also you say you would buy pro if it was 99, and that you bought a ton of templates.
I bet the 99 bucks you would pay plus the money you spent on templates is almost or past 300 anyway.
Also about the complaining about price. I really wish they would do away with the free version.. what they should do is have a demo.. and then make the light version $99.. (what you all get for free) and then pro users pay $299 or something like that.. i hate to think GS is wasting resources trying to make the free version generate money when they could be making the actual engine better with more features, etc.
something like this:
Dear GS, please drop the free version.. let the engine be pay only. The world knows its awesome. let's get all the pro users to start a counter thread.. heh heh. We want you to stop wasting time on free version and focus on making the engine compile native code and other awesome features.
An even better solution would be to just drop iOS publishing completely from the free version -- just let it publish to the arcade. This would fix more than one issue.
thats a fantastic idea.. that way they can have all the features and get used to using the service and technology knowing they could effectively publish that game on iOS / Android with little additional work..
to add, i was just saying that if it was more afforsable they would get more pro users joining and their profits would be up. I am all for working towards a better solution and I think they are doing wonders, I was just putting in my pennies worth thats all - not having a go or anything about the GS dev team.
Does the Pro version allow the removing of these ads? I believe if too many GS games are out there with the ads the word will get around about the engine. If I pay 69p or more for a game I don't want to be bombarded with ads all the time, but if it was free then maybe thats a different matter
I'm open to joining Pro, just want to release my first App before hitting the deep end of the developing pool yet
I bet the 99 bucks you would pay plus the money you spent on templates is almost or past 300 anyway.
To add yes i have But I may not have thought about developing using GS if the costs at the start were close to $600 - I'm an amateur developer that does it in my spare time (what little I have with two kids LOL) hence my remarks.
yea i understand, i have two kids too. Just remember if you're amature, its ok to not have the latest/greatest.
yes the pro version has NO ADS! they become 100% optional. people can still choose to turn them on.. what is really nice is that with a little trickery you could even make it where ads happen if they don't pay to unlock the ads. I'm going to strongly consider this for any appropriate games that come in the future.
Basically you could allow a player to see ads as much or as little as you want.. so say.. they pay $.99 to unlock the game... then you setup a rule which ignores those rules that have the "show ad" option.
As for your thought that you might not have used GS if you knew the cost.. get back to me and let's talk about the price it would take to use Unity3D (which also requires programming knowledge and much more complex to develop with).. or Corona.. also no cheaper than GS..
Stencylworks is a little cheaper, but frankly its a pain in the ass to learn and i'd rather spend that time making games than figuring out its terribly non-intuitive UI and awful tutorials.
All I'm saying is that GS is the BEST option for game devs who can't code.. if you can code, then its a different animal.. consider the $300 you spend there.. vs going to school for classes to learn one of MANY languages all different and require time to master and then figure out how to make a game with that language.. all of this takes time and with kids, you know how tough it is to get any time to truly concentrate.. i've tried learning languages in the past.. and its just not in the cards for me..
for me i was a no brainer.. since January as a pro member i've released five games on iOS/Android.. and have two more coming out by mid July. five games that would not be done if had to use any other technology.. and i still have a backlog of games i want to make and with GS i can finally chip away at them..
I've said this a hundred times before. You can easily make back your investment with a good game and some basic marketing. It may take 6 mths, but you will do it.
If you don't have confidence in yourself or your game, or are just doing this for fun, the current free model is perfect for you.

You are 100% correct on that one... Darn, sometimes GameSalad's amazing upcoming features just make me so greedy
