@Laurensalad *big sigh* yeah thanks. That sucks, though. I'd much rather have the ad at the start of the game instead because its not as annoying but I guess we can't always get what we want. Looks like Im gonna have to get pro
Going PRO doesn't help! The experience of someone who just paid 299 for nothing.
I'm sure this will be fixed ASAP, but it's hard to understand how something this ridiculous and obvious made it through QA. It doesn't give me a good feeling about the testing methods being used by GS on a release.
So basically I really got tricked to go PRO (see my other thread). I went PRO like 20 mins ago and the ads are still there in the creator even tho everything is disabled. WTF. GOT TRICKED TWICE in a major way. Thank you Gamesalad.
this is just a minor inconvenience, when you publish the ads do not show up. all play testing should be on with an adhoc build anyways to truly test performance

I know but it will still be there in the published game for non-pro members no matter what. I, along with many others, prefer the old Playhaven. Ads in paid games will lead to low ratings, and this will just boost that.
The interstitial stub system is certainly not performing as intended and we are working hard at investigating and addressing the issue. We understand that the ads can seem to be overwhelming when testing in the viewer, where every possible ad position triggers an interstitial stub. This is only meant to show you the various positions where ads could pop up and should not be in any way indicative of the amount of ads your users will experience.
Also, these stubs should not show up for Pro Users who have not opted into the "show advertisement" option within their scene transition behaviors. We understand that Pros are currently experiencing them, regardless of opt-in/opt-out status and we're working to resolve that issue as fast as possible.
Ok, So if this ad thing does not go, do not take this in the wrong way, but GameSalad is gunna lose loads of popularity, in fact i was half way through a BIG project, and this happens. I am not happy. So, this is really off putting to the idea of the success of my app, i come home and am far less interested in completing my project.
@LaurenSalad so it will still show up in the creator for free users? I know it'll show up in the actual app, but having it in the creator and viewer can really be annoying. Thanks
Hey Guys! For a temporary solution till this is resolved... You can go to web preview within the game salad creator, although there are some issues with alpha on images working at times, and you can preview pretty seamlessly that way. I know on some older macs html5 can be resource heavy and choppy, but give it a try and see how it goes.
I in fact recorded a gameplay video this evening using that method and although it is not ideal it does work for now.
Gamesalad is usually on top of things and I am sure this issue will be resolved very soon.
@tshirtbooth this will infact cause poor ratings on games that are paid for. And im sorry, there happens to be some of us who are trying to make money of our games so we can go pro... and dont shove the pro price drop in my face, i just had a baby, and i was really excited to get some games out there and try to make a little cash so i could go pro and do my major projects.
and i'm not trying to come across rude, i like you, your nice...but the way you responded just rubbed me the WRONG way
@Laurensalad can you make it 1/10th of the time as opposed to 1/4, that way its not as frequent and more manageable. Or give us the option to decide between 0.9.92 and now
so if i make my game paid, the customer will get a add on every scene? now that will make them so mad, also for free user a least don't make it appear while we are working on the game, is so annoying having to click continue twice just to go to my next scene.
Can't complain about a free lunch. Just saying. . .
Depends what are your goals. If I was a free user right now, I would not choose Gamesalad for a project (unless I can keep it to a single scene). Not sure that this is GS intent by providing free lunch. Many users became Pro after enjoying the free account, I don't see how killing that enjoyment is in GS best interest.
Random full page ads, are bad for any game. I would actually wouldn't mind if GS will add iAds like ads to each scene (not possible with iAds, but maybe with another provider).
This really sucks. I was planning on developing my game and then upgrading to pro when I am done, but these ads are so annoying in the development process. I understand putting them in the finished products of free users, but I really don't see any reason for them to be in the viewer, all it does is slow down development.
"As is sometimes the case in software development, this particular issue manifested shortly after the launch and wasn't noted prior to official release despite the QA team doing full test passes."
@SSS This may be an odd question, but how large is the beta testing group? This bug and the can't publish an iPad retina bug seem like ones that should have been picked up in testing. The latter especially as it was one of the two major highlights for this release. Perhaps that sample is too small to grab an adequate sampling of different system configurations, etc? Just an observation.
Don't you just love Monday morning quarterbacking?
Don't understand why so many people are getting so annoyed:
1. The Pro issue is going to be resolved and as the software is still in Beta these small issues should be expected.
2. If you aren't Pro then you can't complain for getting free software can you? People are saying 'I can't make good games, upgrade to pro etc. due to this change'. GameSalad's free version isn't meant to generate the revenue to upgrade, it is meant to enable everyone to get a taste of development and if it does help you on the way to Pro so be it. I really can't believe how stupid people can be and genuinely think they should expect GameSalad to cover their costs.

anyone know how to get rid of it?
Displaying full screen interstitial ads on the viewer is not supported.
........What?
How do i get rid of this?

How exactly is it meant to be?

How can you not have noticed this, immediately, in testing...???
Test case:
1. Download update.
2. Install as if Pro user.
3. Run.
4. Interstitial ad popup spam.
Looking forward to a fix.
