I'm sorry man, no can do. I am not giving any extensions on the deadline, no exceptions. The reason is, if I give you a deadline extension then someone else is going to want a deadline extension. I just cant do it. Hope you understand..
Hey there everyone! I am excited! I unfortunately didn't get to add in a few of the things I wanted to this evening as my sons sleep schedule is off and his bedtime tonight was 11:00! Which didn't leave me much time to make to many additional changes.
I did however optimize the game performance wise during lunch today and whenever i could get a spare moment, and I added in a few minor details as well.
So I put together another video similar to the one before, where I basically go through the game, and then I try a few rounds and try and best my high score each time which I surprisingly do. Anyhow I have been playing this game like crazy working out any bugs and things like that and I am becoming addicted to my own game I think. I'm not tooting my own horn here, I just have really been having a blast playing it.
I am a fond user of pad2key as I am more of an old skool console gamer than one of these pc playin youngins I see all over the place today. With a controller this game is even more fun for me. So I hope maybe at some point in the future, and with the lua drop it seems like it could be possible, that we could move on to markets like wiiware and xbla. But I will quit pipe dreaming and get back to my rant...
This game could best be described as an arena style arcade game. But hopefully what sets it apart is its unique mechanic. I have the gameplay video posted below, as well as an overview video below that. It is way hot in Ohio so I have the AC on in the other room and it somehow affected the sound a bit so you may have to crank it up all the way to hear me mumble.
Thank you Ventora Studios and Thank you other contestants. Your games look great and are incredibly creative. I appreciate these opportunities within this community and I promised myself I would take full advantage of them when they came about.
I hope you like my entry!

(edit) My overview video is taking forever to upload, if I have permission to post it when it finishes I will do so! Can I @ventorastudios ? (edit)
Here is me and ekelrock's submission for the VS7 contest. I'm not sure if I'm able to embed a youtube video here, so here's the link. I am also emailing it to you now VS...be on the look out....
it just finished processing so the link might not work for a minute...sorry for cutting it so close...i don't know how to upload screenshots in here so I'm emailing them to you now. Great work everyone!!
Update to all - VS7 is now officially over! Congrats to everyone who finished there game and submitted it. Great work! It will be hard to choose a winner, but I will keep everyone updated on who we choose. We will find a winner this afternoon hopefully and announce it tonight. Have a good day everyone!
i think @KodeRiter722 should receive a mulligan because of technical issues. His video was apparently too long. That shiesty youtube, always causing problems. [-X

Really, I just found out about that limit right now, I've never uploaded anything to youtube before. I sent a dropbox link to Support@ventorastudios.com with some screenshots and all at like exactly midnight, so maybe he will see those in time. I'm obviously more than willing to show the video to everyone, i just need a place to upload it.
Here's the Dropbox link if anyone else wants to take a look...
@KodeRiter722! Nice stuff! Really slick menu system as well. I'm a fan. Good Job everybody!
I didn't get to post this in time, but for anyone who is interested in hearing me speak to my submission check out the video below. You don't have to of course
Started it just last night, so I hope I made the deadline. Just a simple defence game that'll allow for many many improvements and add-ons in the future. Thanks for the motivation.
Hey guys. Me and Ekelrock just finished splitting our video in half and reuploading it to youtube (those evil bastards). Anyways, we just wanted to share our progress with everyone and hear what you thought. Great work out there...
And @jayleedesigns: thanks for the kind words!! we really appreciate it! We watched your walkthrough video and it appears you had as much fun participating in this contest as we did. We really hope our game will be accepted, but regardless, the experience was awesome, and we have our first game well under way thanks to the friendly competition. Me and ekelrock both like your game, and wish it much success...keep us posted on the progress, and we will be sure to do the same!!
@ventorastudios: was our submission accepted? i am still waiting to hear back from you on that... we emailed and posted, and there were clearly some unforeseen technical issues with the video upload. it was honestly my first time ever uploading a video. we spent a lot of time on the game, and it would be really nice to be included in the contest. We emailed the video to you immediately after youtube removed the first one (after waiting about 30 minutes for it to upload). We obviously could have sent it to you in that time had youtube given us any indication about file size limits or anything like that. The email we sent went through at 12:01...please don't disqualify us for youtube's deficiencies!
If you cant include us in the contest, can you at least let the judges give us feedback. That was the most important part of this for us really. This is our first gamesalad game (actually, its our first game we've ever demoed, period) and we just wanted some feedback from some of the experienced gs developers (especially tshirtbooth :P)
Even if we are not allowed to participate, we just want to say thank you again @ventorastudios for putting on the contest. It was easily the most fun I have ever had developing a game. Thanks to all the participants as well, a contest isnt a contest without good competition, and all you folks provided plenty of that. I'm really amazed at what folks came up with in a week. Trust me, I know how difficult that can be!! :P
I am looking forward to seeing who will come out victorious...in the meantime though, it would be nice to know if our submission is even being considered...
So the results are in! Before I announce the results, I just want to let everyone know how difficult it was to decide the winners. There were a lot of great entries and it took the judges and I a while to decide. So without further ado, the results are below!
Congrats to all three of you! Please email me about receiving each of your prizes.
Thanks again to everyone who entered, it was a pleasure hosting the contest and I can't wait to see other games that everyone makes in the fall for the second VS7 contest! If you have any questions at all about the contest or judging, feel free to email me.
With over 3,000 views to the thread and many great participants, I would sure say this VS7 was an outstanding success! What are everyone elses thoughts? Will you take part in our next VS7 contest this fall?

Fly around the cavernous depths of this strange moon collecting precious gems, but be sure you have enough oxygen to get back to your ship!
I wanted to add enemies and a few for neat effects but, alas, I ran out of time.
Considering making this a full game now, I love it!
Below are some pics and a video!
