Devils said: That's still to much just because it's bug free don't mean anything. $299-$499 is fine I think.
I dunno, if you do this well then you can make about $100 a day reasonably easily. That's only 20 days out of your 365 or 5.5%. Not too bad really. I see their direct replacing the express model though.
Of course a cheaper pro option would be lovely, but if they implement it it will be to make existing pro users happy not to make masses of cash (thats what direct is for).
The C.O.O stated, "I apologize for that mistake" in the first post of this thread. That's the first step to resolving this issue. The second is coming up with a solution that is good for business... one that makes customers and the GameSalad team happy.
YOU are incorrect!

+1
Please answer these questions: 1. Will there be a pro option? 2. If there is a pro option will it be $1,000 or less? 3. How long before gamesalad receives the next update?

Yup, THESE are the questions we want answered... not "What happens with promo codes?"
Really? That's it? We already know this stuff, but how much money for revenue are you taking? I'm guessing its around 90 to 99.99999999999999999999999%, so that on top of apple's revenue, we have to pay you to fulfil yours hmm?

It bends my mind that 99.9999999.... literally goes on forever. HOW CAN THAT BE?!?!?!
@ Gendai - Thank you for the yellow post, listening and considering other options that allow us to publish our own games, that's all we can ask!
Game Salad Direct will be a great entry level platform, however I do believe it would be benefical to still keep the Game Salad Pro option in some format that allowed us to publish our own games (DEAL BREAKER FOR ME!) . I would be happy to pay in the region of $499 - $1,000 for such an option.
"We understand the concerns raised by members of this community and we're currently exploring options to address those concerns."
If there is a going to be Pro option then say so. Otherwise cut the crap with all this cryptic stuff. You guys act like your community is stupid. They are asking you to throw them a bone and you keep throwing out cupcakes.
Gendai, stop with the cryptic crap. Unless you are working with Apple on this and can't say anything to us, stop keeping us in the dark. It is getting extremely frustrating.
yup... great videos, that bring a touch of humor to the situation.
I just love the blank expression of the characters as they stare into the camera when a big question is NOT answered... pretty much sums up what I imagine most of the GS users faces are like when they read the yellow FAQs and responses so far.
so what do we reckon... maybe another 30 mins before its removed like the rest of the series?
Its a bit silly really...someones wasting their time watching the threads for things to remove, when they could/should be doing better things.
Its not like they can pull the videos from other dev forums or youtube...so the videos are still out there, still making humorous comments on the GameSalad fiasco... for people to see.
At least the videos are funny, and making light at whats been said.... theyre not nasty.....
I guess the humor is just a little bit too close to the bone for GameSalad managements liking.
GameSalad submits to iTunes OK. What certificate are they using? Their own? Means I am not the developer and owner anymore.
Apple does not know me any more. GameSalad signs the app, owns the app and can continue to receive the money of the app. Me the poor stupid Indy cant prove anything to Apple. Apple will pay GameSalad and Gamesalad send me breadcrumbs. I see already next year's rate increasing and COO announcing "Pubicity rates increased and our cut now is old +delta".
I can today go on iTunes and download my crash dump, sales, who bought what and where. If I don't submit, I don't have access to that anymore.
No serious developer will surrender his visibility, brand, code and almost everything in fact to anyone, and have to pay for that on top of it!
You de facto hijacked the work of all developers who wrote apps using GameSalad. You don't give them any choice, they will drop Gamesalad.
Seems I can't remove my profile on this site without accepting the new UNacceptable conditions.
I am a professional programmer, but I have just started using game salad, and aside from the fact that it crashes every 10 minutes or so, I like using it because of the GUI...
I took the time to learn how to use the software, been working on a very good game for the past month now... working literally day and night on it, and now today I get this email from GS explaining that they have chosen to implement an unconscionable and totally unacceptable business model that takes a cut of my future revenues from my game (if I continue to use GS to complete it), and they are also demanding that I use them as the publisher of my game on the app store????????? Are you guys kidding me?
No reasonable professional is going to pay royalties to a 'middle-man software development tool' company like GS/Gendai, much less allow them to act as PUBLISHER of our game on the app store. Not unless GS wants to hire me and put me on salary with benefits. Then maybe I would consider letting them take royalties and act as publisher of my intellectual property that I created using their software tool.
I started using GS under the assumption that you were offering the software as a tool, (like Microsoft Word for creating documents but where I don't have to give royalties to Microsoft for every book I type out using their software TOOL, and where I don't have to offer my books on Amazon with Microsoft listed as the creator and publisher of the book, and be forced to go through Microsoft as middle-man between me and the marketplace using them as my publisher under their brand name and not mine). Microsoft has done some pretty evil corporate stuff over the years, but even they would never be so obtuse as to think that they could pull off what Gendai is currently trying to pull off with GS. This is just plain ridiculous!!!!
I am truly upset!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Instead of spending my day working on the continued development of my game for the iphone/ipod touch using GS as a software development tool, I have had to try and get to the bottom of what is going on here with the new terms being forced upon GS developers. In the process of this, I will add that I have downloaded the trial version of Corona, and fully plan to use that tool instead of GS, unless GS decides to reverse it's current course of action regarding publishing/royalties/etc.
While I'm at it, I would like to suggest that you fix your software so that it does not crash so often. I literally click SAVE after every single thing that I change on my game so as not to lose my work every 5 or 10 minutes when GS regularly crashes on me. Thanks, and good luck. Your software tool has potential and obviously there are some very intelligent people who created it, but I wish you the best in not killing the goose that laid the golden egg.
You have now wasted a good half day's worth of time that I should have been able to just work on development of my current game project. Please make up your minds, and give us all the specific details of whatever you are implementing in terms of our options (or lack thereof) in pricing and publishing with your product. That way, you can stop wasting all of our time and we can make an informed decision as to whether or not we trust your company to provide us a software development tool at competitive pricing under reasonable terms as compared to your competition. We are your customers.... we have other options besides your product.... our time is valuable.... you are wasting it.... and we are waiting!
Tell us what we need to know, and let us make a decision.

Should be ready soon I imagine
If they had this much stuff to work on why would they announce it this early? And why would they take down the pro/express options?
Please answer these questions:
1. Will there be a pro option?
