I'll be working on BOT for about another month. I'm not in a rush. I was concerned about GameSalad's lack of forward motion. Obviously, that's less of an issue now. The team is moving in the right direction now.
There are so many projects I can line up now...
• The return of Arcading • The updating and improvement of the Photics library • Freelance / Consulting — App Development • BOT is going to have great features
...and the funny thing is that I'd probably still mention GameSalad in many of my apps made with GameSalad. I'm in no rush to remove the splash screen. The issue was choice. Now I can choose to keep it or remove it.
Can anyone give an explanation of the custom splash screens, and how they work? Are the pro built apps now completely free of GameSalad branding? Do you have to have a splash screen? Is it a video that needs to be uploaded or a png sequence? thanks for any insight.
And can we fix the "Subscribe To Topic via Email" ?? Never works for me.

Ah I knew something was missing. But hey we did at least make it to page 2 before the bitching started.

A custom splash screen is simply a 480x320 image you upload with your app when you submit it to GameSalad.
Pro users can upload any image they want.
Free users have to have the current GS splash screen video.
If you want to see an example of a 'Pro' splash screen, try my game 'Air Supply' which has one:
This is excellent news, like really great! In the year I have been using gamesalad this is the best news I've heard.
I am hopeful that this new CEO will take a more community centered approach to things. I thought common sense would have prevailed when the decision was taken to remove splash screens the first time, don't remove features from subscription based customers (they'll not renew). The community is why people persist in learning with Gamesalad and why they then get their friends started on it, I think it's their number 1 asset to protect.
Dear Mr Felter, Congratulations on the wonderful announcement! As a developer trying to brand my company and all it's works, including my game, I was less enthusiastic about releasing my game with the dear old GS splash screen (which had no bearing on players, only developers anyway). As I'm sure you were aware, it was diminishing the professional image of many publishers games, mine soon to be published included. It also sounded as though you may have been losing a few of your star publishers due to this also. My number one wish, above all else was to publish with my own branded splash screen, especially with the "pro" license. What this move has done is squarely place Gamesalad back in the running as a professional development tool once more. This in turn will help secure the future of indies like myself as well as Gamesalad! It's a win/win. I hope the addition of Gamecenter goes smoothly for you all and it will certainly be a big hit with most of us here. Thanks again to you and all who work at Gamesalad. I look forward to continued business with you for years to come.
Thanks for the great post, please stay active through the community, you seem very passionate and communication is the key.
Great that as a pro i will be able to use my own splash screens, excited that leaderboards will be in the next release, its been a long time coming, i've not been this excited since pancake day (just so you know ... i LOVE pancakes)
Thanks Steve. And don't be afraid to use that whip on your staff: we want more yellow post, more updates and a "Send to #1 overall" button in the publishing screen.

Fantastic news.
GS is going to be my main dev tool from now on.
"My favorite GameSalad game has to be Secret of Grisly Manor".. It is a Corona SDK based app. http://blog.anscamobile.com/2011/01/wanna-know-the-real-secret-of-grisly-manor-its-corona-sdk/
