i want 1. gamesalad arcade to work on every internet (right now i think it only works on safari.) 2. publishing to 3rd party sites like kongregate. 3. multyplayer 4.photographing on the iphone and ipad 5. a score rule so you don't have to put in attributes, because i gat confused with attributes.
I haven't been on in almost a year, but I am glad that the team is back up and running, and listening to their customers.... Here are the main features that I NEED added before I can start building the app that I want again. 1. JOINTS!!! A necessity for my game, and probably many others 2. Pixel Collisions... again, a necessity 3. Universal Builds... not the most important, but it would still be nice 4. In-App Purchases... VERY important, but don't NEED it atm 5. Cheaper PRO Cost!!... $500 seems reasonable, but I don't have that kind of money...
Again, I'm glad to be back, but PLEASE implement these features, a lot of which were promised in 2011... Also, how do I access the roadmap again?
@tshirtbooth - Well that sucks Is there any possible way around this... without making a !@#$% ton of actors? But yeah, joints are a must have, especially for most (if not all) of my game ideas. It's great being back on the forum
I am still new to GS, and don't know what a joint is. I'm guessing it has to do with constraining actors to each other without use of constrain attribute?
1. IAP 2. Push Notifications 3. Arrays 4. Editor Zoom In 5. Universal Apps 6. Folders in the Editor ( and folders within folders and hence forth.) 7. Customization of the loading wheel (what color (grey, white or black) and placement on screen (center, top right etc.))
Definitely a new workflow for me. I'd love to have easier editing within actors without needing to click on the actor. Ideally, it would be great to have a workflow like in Blender, where we can customize it, and add different toolbars all over depending on what we need.
Also, Gamesalad Achievements, and social networking stuff. I've seen WAY too many negative reviews on Gamesalad games because of these, and for that reason, these features seem far more important than Kiip support or iAp.
Video support would also be a big time saver for story based games, and more physics support, but not until after workflow improvements, social networking tools, and other more crucial, core features.
How about adding a standard way to create new behaviors from external libraries? Imagine how quickly GS might be extended by the community if the hard-core programmers out there could create new behaviors that the rest of could use in the normal GS way. Wouldn't it be great if someone besides GS staff could create a behavior that would send a http post and return the text returned by the server? Or how about some programming guru adding native controls or a behavior that could access the GPS. Suddenly GS would become more than a simple game creator. Such external behaviors would be platform specific but as long as that was documented I don't think it would be a problem. Such a mechanism would extend the GS programming staff dramatically and allow the tool to advance in capabilities at a much more rapid pace.
1. Android Ads (Other than Kiip) 2. In App Purchases 3. Multiplayer 4. Ability to connect to a server (which could be used for multiplayer and online play)
I've rounded up some of the top ones from most users that have posted here:
Top features: ADs (admob) multiplayer integration with core device systems (vibration, camera) notifications, zoom, sprite sheets, movies, joints custom loading wheel custom fonts, objective c input Apples GUI elements that are the ones supplied in Xcode, SNAP TO GRID/tiles. yours sincerely, Jack Leonard Http://www.thermo-apps.com
1. More professional editor. Constrain to horizontal or vertical drag by holding down shift key, snap to (definable) grid, guides, pixel screen rulers, Zoom, OSX Lion style fullscreen, floatable inspector/scene/layers windows, actor borders color referenced to layer. 2. Switchable between current Automator style of programming and a deeper code editor view. 3. Better project organization. Perhaps a World>Level>Actors>Assets (Images, sounds, etc.) directory hierarchy. 4. Arrays and Tables 5. XML-RPC
1. More Fonts & better display text options. 2. In app purchases 3. Custom loading indicators 4. Performance 5. Accesses to images, record sounds, and use the camera. 6. load in videos.
no 1 priority will always be performance, you can have all the extras in the world but if it dont run right. custom loading sign sprite sheets would help with performance if pixel collision cant be achieved like TSB said then some way of reducing the collision size of each actor instead of having to create a second actor. universal builds video will save on performance
1. planet gravity. either for planet based gameplay or just for moving platforms as actors do not stay on moving platforms. 2. Joints 3. the ability to turn off/on gravity on actors. 4. pixel/polygonal collusion
Not that it maters...since this "what do you want on the next release?" goes on forever and you guys do whatever you want to do in the end....but lets just suggest it one more time (again, after a year)
1) Joints 2) Custom polygons for collisions 3) Group selection and movement of actors instead of one by one 4) More options in the Editor (Zoom, Select tool, group) 5) Autosave of the project file on temp file, so in case (when it happens, which it will) the GS crashes you can revive most of your work. (and no....US saving frequently is not a solution. Tell Microsoft to do that in Word..they will laugh on that suggestion)
Customizable collision (the current collision options are not to cool).
Zoom for stage/canvas/editor or whatever you want to call it.
Ability to customize the GS editor layout, like moving the layers screen out of the main window so we don't waste time backtracking every time we have to edit. It is way too confined.
Yes I'm aware that others have requested this feature as well, but I think constructive criticism should come with some "HOW TO" blue prints.
1. Imagine: What if users were given the option to choose if their app was universal?
2. Imagine: Giving the users the ability to adjust properties from within the actor.
3. Imagine: This could incorporate iPad, iPod, Mac, maybe even Android settings.
Though my illustration shows ONLY: Width & Height settings, features like "image, color and X&Y coordinates" would be nice too. But realistically you have to crawl before you can walk, so the "SIZE" would be number one feature on my list.

4) Simple submissions.
5) Bug Fixes
If I get the Top 2 or 3 I'm happy and will disappear for months working on Projects in my secret Bat Cave.
"Perhaps GS should integrate box 2d with chipmunk: http://chipmunk-physics.net/"
That Box2D pug-in looks awesome! I wish GS could do the polygon collision, incredible joints, and the raycasting.

Gamesalad already offers us a way to make good games. We just need more ways to monetize them. So.
Add Admob Please. This is what we need to make money from free android games.
Kiip is not a good choice. You could add both. So, this is my list.
1 -ADMOB
4 - JOINTS
2. In app purchases
3. Custom loading indicators
4. Performance
5. Accesses to images, record sounds, and use the camera.
6. load in videos.
cheers
2. Programs GUI and added functionality

4. Universal Builds
5. Get rid or at least add some options for loading wheel
2. Layers in scenes (ability to only wrap x or y on one layer of the scene).

4. Performance
5. Video in app
