Dose the background show up? Like if you have a space background? I am guesing so because it is an actor but want to make shure. Please ad layer suport
Do you have an estimated date when you could have it available?
There is no planned date yet. I've been working on it for 4 days, and it has got far IMO. So shouldn't take long until I have a version I can release.
I have been thinking about releasing a beta version. But before that I will need to make a kind of license system so the editor can't be shared ...I have to fight against piracy.
What if you could scale a bunch of actors at once?
Ah yes I saw that one but I was just wondering about the process you have for transferring it from window to mac haha
That's freaking crazy... It just makes me wonder why GS can't do it that fast...
Ya you got to defiantly add a license.
Yes! You know what mean right? just like illustrator when select a bunch and it puts a bounding box around all of it and scales it according to that and not each individual thing you've selected. if that makes sense haha. That would be awesome!
This is great! If we could have the option flip graphics as well that would be super sweet! The rotation im not too fussed about but would be a lovely bonus!
Im just thinking for level editing, you often get levels that are already played levels but just play backwards. For certain types of games I could just flip a level and reorganise a few things to add variety and BOOM .. New level
. . . If we could have the option flip graphics as well that would be super sweet! . . .
Agreed, the more functions that are made available the more useful the tool becomes, someone, somewhere at sometime might want to be able to grab a bunch of actors and flip their graphics (without otherwise changing them) - and you can never predict what clever and creative abuses of these functions people might dream up.
Is there scope to include a random function in the translation of objects to quickly add variation to your scene layout . . . for example you grab 40 rock actors and have them all rotate to a random angle (that is 'individually' random, i.e: each rock ends up with it's own unique angle) - - or you grab 20 leaf actors on a tree and scale each of them to a random size ? . . . that kind of thing ?
I think it's when these features are used together that things will really become interesting, snap 50 rock actors to a long horizontal line, scale them all randomly (within set parameters) - and then rotate them all randomly too - and quickly you have a long line of random looking rocks - that kind of thing takes a lot of button pressing in GameSalad at the moment !
@Manto1 will you have the option to duplicate actors in the editor (apologies if this has already been mentioned).
Just wondering if we would need to make sure we add all the actors we need in GS before exporting it out to your tool, or if we can duplicate actors in your tool while we're in it.
Although it wouldn't be a biggie but if you're laying out platforms for your level and you're two platform actors short it'll be nice to be able to create those clones in your editor rather than having to go back into GS to create two more clones to finish off the level design.
@KevinCross Read page 2! Would of took 2 mins to answer your own question there
@Manto1 How does/will this work with multiple scenes within a project? Will we have options to call upon the scene we wish to work on or is this intended for 1 level at a time type process.
I maybe getting ahead of myself with this and layers but damn i'm envisioning how this could help me soo much!
Thanks @beefy_clyro, and to be fair I've read most of this thread which is why I apologised if I missed it. I figured that the ID's of the actors would be a problem.

Do you mean something like this? (Illustrator demo)
(assuming they are flipped around a collective horizontal mid point).
1) change the actors X position relative to the group's collective horizontal mid point (so mid point plus 78 becomes mid point minus 78 . . . )
2) check 'Flip Horizontally' in the actors Graphics attributes.
3) Adjust the actor's rotation accordingly (not worked out the math, but it'll be simple)
Would that work ?
It only flips the coordinates, though. Should it flip the graphics and rotation too?
But anyways I think that it should be an option to flip the graphics or not

The same editor works on mac too here's it in action on Mac:
