I agree playing my game with a controller is awesome, my only issue is reworking the menu system thats the hard part for me anyway, player control was super easy.
Check out the update i made which gives you an idea on how to get a good menu system for controller. You can add more menu items with ease.
multiplayer is added as well if you go into the game a second block will be added and controls. There may be bugs with this feature but i should have fixed them.
edit 1: 2.1 added fixes some menu stuff should work better and easier to understand

hey everyone, I have a doubt, i want to include chartboost into my game, and as i wasn't able to do it from 0.10.4 while publishing, i published it in nightlybuilds, but it doesn't even load my game when i check it on an android phone, and i also published it using 0.10.4 viewer and it runs perfect. Can anyone please help me with some good idea, so that i can include chartboost and also my game works properly.
This thread is about 0.13.3 and GamePad support. You may have better luck with someone helping you if you post your question in either the sections "Working with GS" or the section "Pro - Q&A".
I consistantly lose connection from my controllers to the game salad creator. One minute it works, then next it doesn't. The controller is always connected via bluetooth and works in other applications, but when previewing any game, it will randomly not work. I can get it to work by disconnecting the device and then re-pairing with the mac, sometimes it takes 3 or 4 times. Same problem with ps4 xbox and amazon fire controllers.
Also, turning off bluetooth while gamesalad is open, causes gamesalad to crash.
Really cool update, as this opens up worlds of possibilities that we haven't seen in gamesalad. But, I am looking forward to a more stable release.

we don't have the Rockcandy controller or xbox one controller mapped. There reason the xbox one is showing up as a xbox 360 is that it shares the save vender and product id as the xbox 360 controller. Put in a feature request if you would like us to support that. If i get time i will put together a program where you can map the controller and send the mapping to us. Also if you run GameSalad terminal we have logging that will show you the element id, value and max/min value for the controller. If you can send the id and max/min for the buttons that don't work i can add it to the mapping so it will work.
At the moment that isn't super important to me, it was mainly just for everyone else's information since those were the only two controllers I had on hand last night. I've now got my 360 controller back in my possession and that's working perfectly.
Here is a pretty simple menu select system I worked into my game today, use the Dpad to scroll up and down through the menu and choose an option with the X button (on a ps4 controller).
Since I needed to create a 'controls' screen for my game, I had to illustrate a simple gamepad controller. It's attached as an EPS file if anyone else finds it useful.
I just side loaded A Long Way Home this morning. It was so awesome playing it on the tv. But I'm dealing with tweaking old legacy code and boy is that a pain
I also have to convert the game to widescreen which will be fun.
Maybe I'll convert an easier game first like building jumper or cataclysm.

We'll have more on this Monday, but we will also be running another free PRO promotion -- focusing, obviously, on Fire TV games. Can't wait to see what you guys come up with!
i m trying the add hock with this RC i noticed that the chartboost test screen is not showing up anymore ( there were popping up with the previous .12 version ... anyone else tried seen that?
Sorry to play devil advocate but do ppl really buy games on Amazon FIRE TV?
The gamepad controller is definitely a cool feature and I'm tempted to jump on board to support it but also need to manage my time wisely.
I think it is cool that GS will support the creation for apps on Amazon fire TV. I have the same feelings as @phamtastic . It is cool, but not sure how large the market is. Then again, you could be one of the few developers putting out apps for Amazon fire and could have some success!
My question is about support for larger areas. I was just reading about apps coming to Xbox. Would like to know if this will be supported in the future.
@BlackCloakGS i filed a bug report already, but it looks like every time I disconnect my PS4 gamepad, which is connected over USB, when GS is open, it crashes the entire app.

@jonmulcahy, same exact thing happens to be me when disconnecting my ps4 controller.

I'll just say that developing effectively for a console (and yes, the Fire TV is a game console) is a completely different mindset than developing for a mobile device. It's not just the fact that you have a controller. Or a larger screen. Or real local multiplayer possibilities.
It's a totally different type of gaming experience, in terms of what kinds of games users want and expect, what works and what doesn't, etc.
Until now, we didn't really have a way for developers to really go "full console" -- desktop-style games playable by mouse and keyboard were as close as you were able to get -- so we don't have a catalogue of awesome console-friendly games just yet. However, once we do, I think it will be much easier for us to approach the larger players like Sony, Microsoft and Nintendo.

This has happened with every controller I have tried. Xbox One, PS4, Fire.
@mshannon do you have a crash log you can send me or attach to a bug?

@phamtastic, did secretaries start playing tetris and solitaire on their work computers?

I believe the price point for TV compatible apps could be higher though. Lumping them into the same pool as the mobile apps is not good for devs.
The price does not need to be as high as indie games on Steam, but surely different than a phone app.

What version of Mac OS are you running? We're having problems reproducing this issue but we're also on 10.10.2.
I'm on 10.10.1, I updated the ticket. I'll update to 10.10.2 as soon as I can, I'm waiting for an ISO to finish downloading from MSDN
