The printed book is offered through Lulu as a convenience, for those who don't want to (or can't) use Google Checkout. It's also for those who don't want to read from a screen. The book does not come with the PDF. Did you miss out on the promotion?
Now that the summer shipping sale is over, I've been wondering if I should simply take down the printed book. Most of the sales are for the PDF version anyway.
OK, I'm back and all orders are now up-to-date. If you ordered the PDF, you should have received an email with download information. If not, you can contact me through Google Checkout or the email listed at the bottom of http://photics.com.
The orders are up-to-date, but I added a chat box to my website to improve communication. I thought about adding SitePal, ha, but that seems overkill. I can use the chat box instead.
I've been wondering if I should add some GameSalad content to my website, maybe video tutorials or something like that. This might encourage more people to check out the book. Yet, Weswog and Tshirtbooth already do that. Plus, the main community is here.
Also, it seems that GameSalad.com runs on Wordpress and bbPress. There are a lot of features that could be added here... like a chat box, signatures, private messages and BBCode.
Some of you seem hesitant about using Google Checkout. I can totally understand that. I found something today that might ease your concerns. You can read customer reviews from those that have already used Google Checkout.
I'm pretty sure those are all reviews for textbook as the book is the only non Android Market item that I've sold through Google Checkout.

Once again... all orders are up-to-date. If you don't have your download instructions, check your email. Maybe a spam filter blocked it.

Awesome, all orders are up-to-date. If you ordered the PDF through Photics.com / Google Checkout, you should have received an email with information to download your copy of the book.
I'm highly considering buying your book but I have a few questions first...
1. I've been having trouble with a puzzle game where you have 6 different images on the screen and you have to do something like swipe each image to make the overall image to make sense. That requires a ton of math I'm assuming, so does you book cover something like puzzles?
2. How many pages?
3. Can you give a brief overview on what's in the book? I'm not too sure if it would be helpful to me so I'm just wondering..
4. Does your book go over a lot of math, because that's what I want it for mainly.
The sample PDF contains the table of contents and the index for the full book. If you read the feedback here, the book seems to have been very helpful. It was certainly helpful for me. I wrote it without assumptions. Instead, I did a lot of testing. It made me a better Game Salad developer. A lot of research went into this book, which may help with the creation, optimization and testing of your GameSalad game.

I'm most proud of the math section. I also like the cool tips and ways to create better games with GameSalad. The book goes through the entire process of creating a GameSalad game.
There's lots of useful information in the book. It was written to be like a better GameSalad manual. Yet, I also wrote the book with a specific tone. In the book, I assume the role of a guide, leading you through the tough spots of GameSalad game development.
All orders are up-to-date. The site is working normally. I'm even using the chat box today. (Registration is free, if you'd like to discuss GameSalad in more real time.)
The App version of the book should be available this week... if Apple approves it. I think the printed version is better though. I rate the different versions like this...
Message to PDF customers - All orders are up-to-date. If you ordered the PDF, you should have received an email with download instructions.
I'm quite surprised that GameSalad hasn't been updated yet. Thanks Gendai Games. Updating the book would have been a lot of work. Of course Game Center support would be more enjoyable, but this is a nice side to the delay.
I'll be watching some TV tonight. So if order processing is a little slow around 8-10pm, you can blame "House" and "The Event"... THE EVENT (dramatic pause) was actually boring to me. I'm giving it one more shot to see if gets interesting. So far, it's looking pretty lame.
As of Friday, 10:35pm New York Time, all orders are up-to-date. If you haven't received your PDF download information via email. If you haven't received your download information, check your spam folder. If you still do not have the PDF download information, you can contact me through Google Checkout.

Also, now I have iWork '09, so I'm planning to convert The Unofficial GameSalad Textbook to ePub. I hate this format, but Apple rejected my PDF based app.

It seems that GameSalad will be updated soon. That means I'm considering an update to the book. I really picked a great time to update the book. I thought there would be a lot more updating. The book has been out for two months, but GameSalad hasn't changed.
All orders are up-to-date again. If you ordered the PDF version of the textbook before 10/16/2010 2PM (New York Time) you should have received an email with download instructions. If not, check your spam folder or contact me through Google.
So far, I'm really enjoying the iBookstore. Now that I understand the process, it's a lot easier for me to make an ePub than an app. The textbook should be available through iBooks soon!
I still have some old Apple itunes giftcards... the canadian versions though (won't let you download any cool american shows from the american store only extremely crappy bland horrible pointless canadian shows like Men with Brooms - "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" ripoff). Is it possible to buy your book through itunes on PC? I don't know much about purchasing through itunes since I rarely use it.
Photics, sorry if this was brought up earlier, but is the printed version of the book no longer available? I looked it up on the Lulu website and it's not there anymore...
As much as I love the convenience of the PDF version, I'd much rather have the printed version so that I can read it in bed, on the couch, etc. I don't think my wife would be too happy if I brought my desktop into bed, and I'd hate to read it on my phone. *sigh*

Canadians should be able to buy the book through the iBookstore when it becomes available. There's an especially popular Canadian around here who I was thinking of when I set up the book.
I don't know if iTunes gift cards work in the iBookstore though. I saw an iBookstore gift card in Best Buy, so I'm not sure if they're separate or together.

I discontinued the printed version. Future updates of the book will be ePub only. I was really impressed with the iBook version. I felt that reading the book from the iPhone 4 was quite nice. I was an ePub hater, but now I'm starting to like the format. Everyone here should have an iOS device, so I think it makes sense.

Oh, and for those with the PDF already, the link to Another Puzzle should work soon. I sent the iPad app to Apple for review.

I'm in New York, so it's just morning time over here.
Edit : Nvm got the book version from lulu :P
1 - PDF (Best)
2 - Print (Lulu accepts PayPal)
3 - App (iTunes accepts PayPal)
