I was at Corona a couple of months back and found the forums void of any help at all... AND I was there as a potential customer. I was weighing up SDKs to "learn" and quickly decided that Corona wasn't right for me as they weren't in the least bit helpful (not to mention I looked at the "showcase" games.
Perhaps, but they certainly don't give out the air of arrogance that GS does with their secrecy and general disdain for customers.
I have worked in sales before and I know that all customers are generally idiots when viewed from the other side of the desk. However much you might hate them though your business is gonna do very badly without them.

This is true; although I do have faith in Corona - if you look back to prior to people converting they were still very, very helpful for the most part. The forums were quieter, by far, thus I imagine they were checked in on less often; but at the same time email addresses were still made available and people were encouraged to use them.
I'm not saying they will remain this good all the time, but based on the little contact I've had with Eric (who commented on my blog) and Carl (who as I mentioned before I emailed) I really think they genuinely care about their community; and even if they are only providing good customer service for $ and nothing more, the horrible reality is that is still WAY more than GS have ever done for us.
A friend of mine wants to use GS, but he has no way to do so. I told him forget it and just use Unity because there is no information of when you can become a member again.
You would think, from a business perspective, that they can't really leave it much longer whilst not actually earning any money.
They have no money coming in from new subs, and obviously no money coming in from GSD.
All of a sudden, that 1mill investment is being used up on day to day running.
??
I'm not holding my breath tho. Like T-Shirt says, just crack on as before for now. Although it would be nice to know what (if any) new features might be around the corner, it's kind of always been the same round these parts. Nothing new to stop you from working on your games like normal.
The thing to consider is that this new system can't actually start because the software isn't ready yet.
If you think about it, the GS software you have has a 'publish' button. Unless the infrastructure's in place to implement the new system and allow people to publish to GSDirect, as well as the 'good' way, they simply can't launch.
Personally, I'm hoping it's delayed and delayed. Or that, at the very least, they'll allow the one week 'grace' period for using the old version to be extended to a month - just so we don't have to take our games apart, deal with the inevitable bugs, and waste time converting to the latest build.
The rather worrying thing is, they had stated that people nearing the end of their subs could contact them for an extension, but someone (sorry I can't remember who now) posted up that they had basically given him the brush off on that

Per the TOC, they have to give us 30 day notice, right? Maybe that's what they're waiting for...this will be week 3?
Corona discount expires next Monday...if they don't say anything by end if this week, a lot of people will jump ship...I'm afraid I'll be one of them :S
My current plan is to produce as many titles as possible (maybe three) before December 26 when our license ends and then skip away to a new system. I've lost confidence in GameSalad and frankly couldn't care less what it does in 2011 any more. So how many lost customers do we have now?
The way GameSalad treats its customers is disgraceful. There is no communication. So I wouldn't trust them to communicate if anything should go wrong with GameSalad Direct. And they say they will look after our PR? Hahahahaha. Funny, that.

my problem is what happens when my membership runs out next month. I can't update any of my previous games every again. if I want to submit an update, I have to pull my app from the store and resubmit it through GSDirect, which is going to piss off every single person who has downloaded my apps before, they would have to rebuy to get the update.
Not to mention if I want to keep them in the store under my name, I have to continue to pay the $99 per year to apple.
I'm sad to say it, but the way this was handled has been a train wreck. I'm shocked they just brushed aside all your comments when they spoke with you before the release. How on earth they thought that you were in the minority is just beyond me.
sadder still, I have not opened the GameSalad app since GSD was announced :(
It's been 3 weeks since the announcment of GSD, lost 3 weeks of sales. They also advertise that Direct is out, with a big download button on the front page, but you can't even use it... It's false advertising!!!
Dont they realize they're losing money? They can't keep up GameSalad without an income. But... if they're taking this much time because they've read all our comments and decided to make it so people have a choice to use direct or normal GS, fine by me. Take all the time you need.

I think today makes two weeks. But the point is taken.

Was there any update yet on when the "New" GS will be launched?

Just sayin'.
And where is the update/answers/yellow posts? Seriously, ridiculous.

I Hope they will Make a Pro Version…. I will buy it NOW!
You speak a lot of sense mate! Hurrah!

I'm sure they do.
The thing is, how long can they keep it up.
If I were an investor, not sure I'd be too happy with that.
