AND afaik, if you make a game under GS Direct let's say and it starts to take off, if there is nothing locking you in their contract, you could always make a new version of the game concurrently in code. If you're game really takes off, you could pull out and rerelease under your own brand. You're always free to choose when and when you don't want to use their software.
Only problem... You can't use the same name again. So once you have chosen GAMENAME, you can't choose GAMENAME under your account.
I wonder why Apple won't allow multiple usage of the same name? (example: Pong made by Author 1 and Pong made by Author 2, game names are just an example)

Because they probably don't want 100 'Angry Birds' on the app store. It'd be chaos.
iDeveloper said: The way it's going, the App store is going to have a name shortage. IMO, Apple should also make a separate app store for us "amateur" developers.
Note: Amateur = developers that are not associated with big name companies, such as EA Games, etc.
I agree. I always thought there should be a big name store and an indie store. The big names have to charge a minimum of say $9.99 for apps, indies can charge 99c or more... that would be fair, I reckon and would give us a shot at competing with the likes of EA!

I hope apple doesn't do that! Is the worst idea ever as it would marginalize us. As QS said some of us are more than able to compete with them, some of us are working for them also :P
I didnt see this post before so im late in the discussion, Im new in here and didnt have time to get a membership from gamesalad, so it looks like i got no chance but agree with the new face of game salad... I finish my first game already and i want to see if it sells... I think game salad its just doing something that its right for them cause thats whats apple do anyways when you developed your app with xcode and publish on the app store.. they charge you 30% of your sales, hope game salad doesn't go any expensive than that...
Hey GS Team, I've hope that FAQ will be published soon. It'd be great if you add these questions: 1. Will customers who have express or pro membership be able to download GS updates, or they will be only for GS Direct? 2. Will customers who have express membership be able to add direct links or remove GS splash screen?
Someone Knows when They will tell us all the details of this new stuff? New users may be annoyed, they don't know how to publish a game, actualy if you are new, you can`t.
It doesnt tell us anything we didnt already know by now. Its just another yellow post asking us to give them more time and to trust in the new direction, as its going to be wonderful for us all.
No real useful information.... this is becoming a joke....
Arghhhhhhhhhh just read the FAQ and well still not happy. Come on GameSalad just give us 3 levels...let the Pro's be the pro's, let us Express Members be express and let the others be Direct. Come on. This isn't rocket science. I DON'T WANT YOU PUBLISHING MY APPS!!!! It is as simple as THAT!
COME ON! This is just plain nonsense. Arghhhhhhhhhhh! I have a huge project coming up that someone is going to pay me and I AM NOT going to let GameSalad publish it. PURE AND SIMPLE. If I have to go to another tool I will.
You said in the FAQ that things aren't set in stone so I am still holding out hope you all come to your senses on this.

Thanks!
I think your point about not being able to use the same game name under a different account is a valid one. Hopefully it'll be addressed.

That way, you'll be pleasantly surprised if they do appear, and won't be too disappointed if they don't!

BTW - awesome to have you here more often, and good luck on your new game!

That'll be interesting to know. Kind of.
Actually it could be free and this would all still suck. So... flame to the fire, boys!
