calvin it doesnt matter if you have iap or not it can still be cracked.

hum how about the post above?

anyway, even if IAp can be crack, I think it is harder(and fewer people knows how to)

Calvin Im Sorry if this come off as super mean. But…. Have you made a game yet worth cracking that once cracked you have actually lost revenue? I personally have not and I feel my games, especially Alpha Balls Is pretty good quality games.

Im not Worried about thwarting Piracy I would much rather not drive off possible customers in the attempt to fight piracy. Since as it is right now. Im not loosing much money if any even though all of my games are hacked and available through installous.

no I do not, you are right, I did not go well for my first game(because it is just no good)

but what I am saying is you can not say people have not make a good game so we do not need good features, that way I can not even try to make a good game

Calvin You are basing your argument of why you want IAP on other ppl Need it for this. Its like you are arguing to argue. IAP is coming. Theres no stopping it. No one is trying to talk GS out of it at this point. But You are not going to thwart piracy with it. Piracy is a part of selling software.

I know it is coming and I know it won't stop the crack thing

but what I am saying now is it is less popular and less people know, that is it

    back on topic

i am all for piracy, it's how the original gta and doom spread and if you have a great game you should appreciate the fan base that desires you so much to steal if 100,000 people stole your game a million most likely bought it...

not saying i would steal, but its a culture of the industry.

True that, but I can understand why people would be nervous about this. No one wants their work stolen, even IAP.

I have to agree with you there though. If people are making an effort to steal from the app, than a lot of people must have already payed the money for your IAPs.

i think you have that backwards. Piracy kills indie developers.

With IAPs just around the corner I was wondering how they would be set up in GameSalad. Would it just be a separate bunch of rules and attributes that slot into place when downloaded?

Would it be possible to have a disabel ads IAP, or is that against any sort of apple agreement.

    Just wondering,

    Thanks.

can i use iap as a means to deal with game size? is it possible to offer a game below 20mb, then offer additional levels through iap, without those levels and images already in the initial offering (but just disabled)?

Something more important than IAP for me would be the ability to integrate with 3rd party backend like Roar Engine.

I would prefer that rather than trying to build my own system within Gamesalad. Managing items, item decay, etc, is a huge project and would be a nightmare in GS. If variables could be sent in and out to something like Roar Engine, then it would make IAP viable.

IAP would be nice and all, but I have to agree with a much earlier post. If you don't have a good app to begin with IAP isn't going to make a difference. You would need a good large following for your app already for it to be effective. Besides whatever it is that you give in IAP better be similar to it being worth buy a paid version of the app. I would never pay lets say .99 cents for a couple skins

You know that would be better because you could use Box2d, Openfient, etc :)

Well... Kiip is aimed to be released in mid-Dec, big fixing patch is this week.

This leads me to believe that the next build that includes features will be the mid-dec "Kiip" build

Is IAP slotted to be in that build?

I'd take IAP over Kiip to be frank.

Game Salad even posted in their own blog that Freemium games are making the most money and that the market share of Freemium games will only go up.

I like the idea of Kiip, but not if it delays the implementation of IAP.

If a GS employee would be so kind as to shed some light on the matter, that would be much appreciated.
