I agree ORBZ, and I hope you're right. I think all this speculation, and these debates just make it more nerve racking than anything, but if you do look at the root of GS, if the above is true, then we should have no problem.... hopefully!
ORBZ: I also think it would be very gutsy of Gamesalad to come forward like they did with Yodapollo's post saying, not to worry, if they really thought there was a problem. The CEO also twittered about how Gamesalad will have a great year in 2010.
Those are some very gutsy posts if they are worried about GS getting canned after April 22nd.
Gamesalad is also known to be very hush about things unless they are absolutely certain a new feature or addition will be coming out.
So logically, it would make sense that we are safe.
But until I hear the words posted bluntly that Gamesalad is safe, and we can continue publishing games after April 22nd, I will still have my doubts
Hmm, looking at things more carefully, I think you're right. Hopefully this won't affect the end user in any way.
Going to wait and see what happens... Forwarding the article about the Sony lawsuit to some interested parties, though. Maybe someone can make use of it.
I still think people are looking way too far into this
apple likes to be able to reject stuff period. Now they just have legit reason to point to when a dev calls them out. It's a shut you up clause plain and simple.
They always have and always will do what they want
I'd like to submit a GameSalad app that could do a countdown to April 22. Ah, GameSalad doesn't have the ability to access the current date and time...
I also have to say I would happily continue use of GameSalad. I think worry (understandably of course) has unfairly swiped everyone off their feet and we just need to accept this and carry on.
Surely the agreement changes have taken place already? Or are they future changes that will only be fully implemented with the release of 4.0? If they have already gone ahead Gendai Games would be on the case lightning fast and would have taken some action by now otherwise I would have thought surely? Otherwise, many of us here would be breaking the license agreement with Apple right now.
So just incase things to go horribly bad on the 22nd, would it be wise of me to submit my game to the AppStore before then even if I have to cut it a few levels short? Do u think they would still allow updates so I could add more levels later? Also does anyone know if the attributes saved to a persons iPhone will still load after they download an update. I don't want somebody to have to unlock all the levels again just because I added a couple more levels.
If this goes south I'll have a nice new MacBook I bought just for gamesalad I won't be needing anymore. Maybe I'll just shoot it and burn it then put the video on YouTube like that guy did with his 3gs. Just kidding, I could never injure an innocent piece of hardware like that.
Thank you for your patience in waiting for a more in-depth response to the Apple iPhone OS 4.0 SDK Agreement, in particular clause 3.3.1. We understand that this has caused great concern and we've been hard at work to bring you answers. Please understand that we have been slow to respond because we wanted to come to you with a more definitive answer. We try really hard to get things right the first time. Again, thanks for your patience.
The dev team here at Gendai Games has spent the last several days pouring over Apple's recently announced iPhone 4.0 SDK Agreement. After extensive research, we have every reason to believe that it should be business as usual for our community of developers in regards to publishing their apps on the iPhone and iPad.
Furthermore, we have been in contact with Apple, and in all our communications, have been given no reason to expect that games built using GameSalad will be removed or rejected on account of 3.3.1.
We understand that for many of you, there are still questions and doubts. Therefore, in order to alleviate everyone's concern, we will be releasing updates to the GameSalad tool in the near future to further reinforce that clause 3.3.1 of the iPhone OS 4.0 Agreement will not be an issue for GameSalad or the developers who use it.
The team here at Gendai cannot adequately express our gratitude to you, the community for your patience and understanding while we sort through such a complex and, in all honesty, complicated situation. Hopefully, this will help everyone sleep a little easier, and get everyone revved back up to continue making killer apps for Apple's mobile platforms.

Look on the bright side - if all the 3rd party stuff is banned - we all go down together.

Nothing will be any different for gs on april 22
Is there possibilities of the android, xbox, windows, the GS shop. Or anything really?
No problem! All you have to do is make daily updates.

Thoughts, comments?!?
Also, why ruin a nice shirt with our faces on it. I would rather TSB just include a link to his site or whatever he chooses to. Just a thought.
And I spent this evening being unbearably wonderful down the pub again...
Oh well!
