Guys this isnt a GameSalad Vs Corona thread, its a thread about GameSalad needing to add GameCenter which they have confirmed is a priority for them. I get where everyone is coming from but can we not just shut up now about Corona? After all, we are on the GameSalad forums. Lets say i was interested in buying a Porsche, i wanted to see what upgrades they had planned for future models, would i go into Ferrari and say, 'hey, can you add this great feature that the Porsche offers? If you dont you will be eaten up by your competition and i will not buy a Porsche'. Of course not, anybody with a brain will look at what they *need* to achieve what they *want*, its the same here. I would like GameCenter, it will make my games better but i dont need it! It would just give me more options i cant yet offer. Now, if i deem GameSalad not to be implementing it quick enough and i feel i need it, im not stupid, i can research what offers what, therefore, i just get on with what i have and concentrate my efforts on making the best game i can within my limits or i go elsewhere to get what i want. I would like GameCenter and i trust its coming, im happy to wait, i've been with GameSalad a long time now and i want to stay with it, if i didnt, i wouldnt be here, i wouldnt be whining, i'd just be where i needed to be to get what i want.
So ask yourself what you want and go for what gives you it, im sick of hearing about Corona, if its that great you wouldnt really feel a need to be here, you'd be using it all the time, making your games and posting on their forums about the games you've created and the features that lacks and the next big thing you want. GameSalad aren't stupid, they've done fantastic to be the 1st at what they're doing and get their tool to where it is, telling them if they dont keep up they will be over, surely, just surely, they may of already thought about these things. For the moment, GameSalad is the best at what it does, so why not stop going on about what it doesnt do and work with what it does do? Or again, leave for that tool that does what you want ... Simples!
I changed the topic to GameSalad careers... as it relates to Game Center. Perhaps the reason why things are so slow is because they need good programmers. So, this is a big community. With 50,000+ members, I'm thinking someone knows someone... or knows someone who knows someone... that would be good for the job.
The closest I qualify for is "Quality Assurance" and "Web Developer". That's not going to fix Game Center though. HA HA
The problem is that we're here because we don't like to code. So, it could be tricky for a community of code-haters to find programmers. HA!

Everyone's talking about using Game Center to make "Better Games", but I feel like if we really want to make better games, we should have arrays and improved physics. Game Center sells games, not makes games. At the end of the day, even if someone writes a bad review about the lack of Game Center, they still bought the game, and others will still buy your games. On the whole Corona with a GUI interphase, I would use it IF it was as pleasant to use as Gamesalad. I like the way Gamesalad works. If a super corona was better, I would use it. If it was worse, I'd use Gamesalad. Also, I don't think discussing Corona here is a bad idea. Telling people what Corona can do there is pointless since those are its users. That's what I think. If no one talked about it here, no one would be angry about Game Center in the first place. I feel that this place should be a place for discussion on any game related topics, even if it is anti-Gamesalad. I love gamesalad. I've tried Corona, and am learning it, mostly for the sake of learning something new, but even if I become a Lua-Guru, I'm sticking around here for now. That's all. Sorry for ranting.
I'm starting to feel like a tea-bagger (gasp!) but this censorship stuff is really getting annoying. Photics is not trying to discuss the particulars of corona. He is looking at GS's future in the current marketplace which includes corona.
At the moment GameSalad is great software, but if they don't tell us anything they are planning...well, you know the rest... Cbowers, Photics, and myself are not switching to Corona (at this moment), because we don't feel that programming is the best way to visually see what you are creating, so stop telling us to leave... We should be openly allowed to express our opinions about this software and others... like Cbowers stated, why would anyone not leave if Corona adopted the drag and drop system? Oh and I just noticed today that Game Center is coming very soon to Corona.... just thought you all should know

This goes back to the jobs. Would you feel safe working for GameSalad? Game companies in general are not exactly providers stable jobs. How strong is the future of the company?
Why did that other guy leave? I don't remember his name. He had a snake avatar... cobra something? It seems like when he left, production left with him.
people on here are acting like the forum is supposed to be everyone gathered in song and holding hands talking about the greatness of GS... why is it a sin to talk about GS IN COMPARISON to Corona?

So, if they didn't lose any programmers, what happened during the last 7 months? Why are updates so slow and the dialogue with the community so strained?
I'm struggling with Corona and trying to learn Lua It doesn't seem that bad though, I know PHP and I worked with ActionScript, so it's not completely alien to me.
Isn't that just great... they took down BOTH of my topics... not just closing them, but permanently deleting them from anyone else to see!! What does this mean? Well for one it means that they are alive and they look at the forums. And for two it means that they don't want us to discuss whats wrong with their software and what's so good about Corona's. Again, thank you GameSalad for being their to delete my topics, but before you do, please read them and respond to them first!!

I was one of the people who asked that your discussions be deleted. We come here to discuss Game Salad, not to discuss other development platforms. Please stop trolling.

I'm not trolling... it's the exact opposite!! I LOVE GameSalad... I would love to stay here... the only problem is that they don't listen (and respond) to the community and their suggestions... The only reason I made the Corona vs. GameSalad topic was so that people could express their opinions about what GameSalad needs to change, not to discuss why Corona is/isn't better. The last few days have been pretty crazy, and I sure as hell am not the only one that thinks that GameSalad needs to do something... Again, I'm sorry if everything I said came across in a different way, I just wanted people to realize that Gendai needs to do something in order for them to survive and thrive.... Maybe I should just stop posting on the forums and just go back to looking at them.... sorry I love this community and I love this software, but it needs help to make it succeed!!

Theres a reason its being deleted Quit posting corona information and videos. you are not benefiting the community.
